I’m artsy. I used to tell my students that the reason I became a teacher was because I liked to color. (Funnily enough, they believed me.) It seems I have passed this trait on to my children. My boys love to color.
Blankz is the perfect toy for a child who loves to color and cuddle. The package comes with a white plush toy and markers. Each child gets to color their animal to suit their own personality. And if they don’t like it, they can toss it into the washing machine and start over.
This toy is a perfect present for any child. However, as a teacher, I see this toy having endless possibilities in the classroom. Currently, the Blankz come in seven different animals. How amazing it would be to teach a science unit about bears and then have a student color their bear so that it matches their science report. Or you could read a story that has a pig as the main character, and have the students decorate a Blankz as a follow up activity. You could even have kids practice spelling words or math facts on them. But, my favorite idea is to teach a lesson about bullying and have the kids write about what they learned on the “No Bully” set. Yep, having a set of these in the classroom would be incredibly fun!
