Barker Creek Review: Educents Special!

If you have a child in K-2 that needs a little extra help or just a little extra practice, Barker Creek offers a great set of Homework Helpers. Homework Helpers help reinforce K-2 skills and is great for parents, homeschoolers, or teachers who would like to include art instruction as well as reinforce handwriting and reading skills.
Barker Creek
They definitely aren’t limited to those subjects, though! They cover math, science, language arts, geography, and more! I am really impressed with how thorough they are and how much material is included in this collection! There are fun crafts, recipes, reproducibles, and a lot of fun facts and projects about things they love. Our kids LOVE dogs and cats, so to say they were a little excited when they saw dog and cat projects would be an understatement!
One feature we haven’t been able to use completely that I am absolutely excited about trying are the reproducible booklets. It recommends making a teacher version ahead of time so when you work on it with your children (or students if you’re using it in a class setting) you will have an example. I am getting together my teacher booklets so we can do these activities. Then you make sure you print enough copies of each of the story pages for each child/student.
It’s not just a notebook with papers, though! In the “Cat Craze,” for example, the front and back cover are made out of paper plate projects – the front plate is sponge painted and decorate to be a cat’s face. Of course, all of the pages for that booklet are the same size and shape of a paper plate so they fit inside.
Cute and fun, right? With activities like these your children will LOVE learning! It doesn’t feel like a lesson, or homework, or extra work – it is just like doing a fun activity, but they really are learning so much! I find our children really soak in more when they enjoy what they are learning.
The Barker Creek Homework Helpers is a 5-book set that includes: “Frog Frenzy,” “Cat Craze,” “Dog Days,” “Going, Going, Gone,” and “Simply Sunflowers.” We haven’t had a chance to jump into all of them yet, of course, but after checking through them they all seem to have equally great projects and information. Although they are targeted for K-2, and I have started using them with our two 1st Graders our preschooler has been equally curious and could definitely join in on some of the simple projects and crafts!

*Educents Special!*

The Barker Creek Homework Helpers 5 Curriculum Books are available on Educents for a limited time at up to 50% off! You can purchase the ebooks like I reviewed for 50% off or the hard copies for 35% off! Don’t miss out! Buy them now!

My daughters love using workbooks! We do at home study with them sometimes and the girls LOVE playing school with each other and actually have some school work to do! Learning while playing is simply wonderful!! I bet my girls would love these books as well! They’re the perfect age span… Jade is in 1st and Loran is in 2nd! Thanks for the great review, you always find the best Homeschool supplies ๐Ÿ™‚ That’s one reason why I love you and your blog, even though we don’t homeschool, just extra learning at home, since my girls go to public school.

There are so many things for a child to love about Barker Creek Homework Helpers. I think the paper plate projects in the Cat Craze booklet would be a big hit in our household.
