You know I’m always on the lookout for eco-friendly products! For most of our youngest son’s diapering days we used cloth everything – cloth diapers and cloth wipes. Not too long ago, though, we had to make a shift due to skin irritation that just wouldn’t go away. I sadly had to put the fluff away. I found it was economical to continue using cloth wipes, either, because I used bamboo cloth wipes that would require a wash different than the rest of our clothes. It’s definitely not economical it to run the washer for 5-10 wipes!
We were happy to find an eco-friendly diaper we really love, but what about wipes? That was becoming a task much more difficult than I anticipated. Due to his Sensory Processing Disorder he has been having a hard time with potty training, so I knew he might be in diapers a little longer and we really needed a solution! When I saw the opportunity to review Bum Boosa Bamboo Baby Wipes, I was definitely curious to check them out!
For my review I received one pack of Bum Boosa Baby Wipes and some additional sample packs. I also received more information about Bum Boosa.
I was really impressed by the literature I received. I love that they use bamboo because it is renewable and sustainable. The wipes are also made with a gentle solution and food grade preservatives. One of the first things I noticed when opening them was the pleasant scent. I’m always leery of scents because I fear they may be synthetic. Bum Boosa, though, uses Lavender and Sweet Orange Essential Oils, which are both natural and give them a pleasant scent!
I also appreciate the company’s passion for our health and the environment. They are dedicated to promoting bamboo as an important replacement material to petroleum-based plastics and tree pulp in disposable products. Plus, they offer coupons if you send back the empty baby wipes packaging, which they then use for upcycled products after they have been sterilized! How awesome is that?
The wipes are very soft. Because they were soft I was worried they would be flimsy, but they aren’t at all! They are pretty durable as well! Our little guy usually complains about wipes, but he didn’t complain about the Bum Boosa Wipes. They also became my go-to wipes for other things like messy hands and faces as well. With diaper changes I noticed I had to use maybe one or two more wipes than “usual,” but that is totally worth it to me for the peace of mind knowing they are natural and not compromising safety. Plus, there is no irritation with the Bum Boosa wipes, which is always a huge advantage!
