Disclosure: I received an assortment of products to facilitate my gluten free breads review. Regardless, all opinions are my own and those of my family.
We have been working on going gluten-free for quite some time. Between my having Fibromyalgia and Sensory Processing Disorder as well as two of our children having SPD and one being on the Autism spectrum, I know it would be very beneficial for all of us. I have found it to not be quite challenging, though, as many of the foods we love have gluten. As I learned to cook more gluten free foods, something I still stumble on are the breads. All the recipes I tried resulted in breads with a very gritty texture, and because we do have sensory aversions, this was not pleasing to any of us! Breads we bought were just bland. They lacked “fluff.”
When I was invited to try Canyon Bakehouse Gluten Free Breads I was definitely eager to try them! Could this be the solution to our bread woes?
For our review we received 7-Grain, Cinnamon Raisin, Rosemary & Thyme Focaccia, and Hamburger Buns.
Wow was I excited to try the Cinnamon Raisin bread! I am a huge fan of Cinnamon Raisin bread, and I couldn’t wait to try a gluten-free cinnamon raisin bread!
I was not disappointed. It is so full of flavor and has a consistency so much like “regular” bread it really is hard to tell it’s gluten-free. Plus, the sweetness doesn’t come at a high price. It is sweetened with organic agave syrup – one of my favorite natural sweeteners. I love to toast cinnamon raisin bread and use butter, but I even grabbed a slice or two just by itself for a quick pick me up snack, and it was just as good!
The Rosemary & Thyme Focaccia is actually the first time we’ve ever had Focaccia. I guess we were missing out because it was delicious! It’s the perfect dipping bread! I am a big fan of using bread with spinach dip, and I finally found my bread! I read there are many other possibilities as well! This is definitely a bread I will get again.
The 7-Grain packs healthy whole grains, and because it is more like a “traditional” loaf of bread, we used it for our sandwiches. This is where we have had problems with gluten-free breads I have made – the breads for our sandwiches. Everything has been too gritty or thick and not at all fluffy. They have all just been a completely undesirable texture. I was so pleased with the 7-Grain bread. I did worry it would be gritty or thick, but it wasn’t at all like the thick, gritty textures of the breads I made. In fact, I had no complaints from the kids, which is always the test indicator. Talk about exciting! I’m a little less picky, so although I enjoyed it, I knew that would be the real test, and I was glad they enjoyed it as well.
The gluten-free hamburger buns really impressed me because they were so fluffy. They came in handy for my husband’s birthday party and surprised others that they were gluten free as well! They’re large, too, so it definitely fit the burgers without a problem! They definitely passed the test as well!
Overall, we really enjoyed the Canyon Bakehouse Breads. I appreciate that they make the breads in their dedicated gluten-free bakery and use natural ingredients and whole grains. I can tell they are passionate about offering a gluten-free alternative without compromising quality that have the taste and texture people love. I can definitely appreciate that!

Great review!Their bread looks delicious..especially the cinnamon bread.
I LOVE Canyon Bakehouse breads! I have been using them for several months.
I know that some people are allergic to gluten products but I don’t even know what it is, lol I guess I’m not allergic to it, because I eat gluten free products and products with gluten and can’t tell the difference. In any case I love focaccia bread; I buy it from our local stores 🙂 Thank you for the review!
I have thought of going gluten-free, but I love bread! And like you I couldn’t see myself eating what passed for bread that was gluten free, but this looks pretty good. I’ll try it.
The cinnamon raisin bread looks really delicious. I have been trying to go gluten-free for a while, but haven’t found any breads that I’ve found particularly appetizing. I definitely need to give this bread a try.
These gluten-free breads look delicious.
