Last month we launched Sweetness Sisters Media with our big Valentine’s Giveaway Extravaganza! Additionally we have shared review opportunities with our bloggers as well! Sweetness Sisters Media still has its own growing to do, and we thought what better way to continue to add to the site than jump right in with blogger challenges! With these challenges bloggers will be encouraged to participate in something to improve something with their blog or social media.
We will be taking these challenges right along with you! When the challenge involves a blog improvement or update like the “About Page” (hint: this one is coming soon!) we will be adding that page to Sweetness Sisters Media! I will be doing the challenges here on Pea of Sweetness and on Deals of Sweetness as well! These challenges will be weekly or bi-monthly depending on the challenge.

Sweepstakes Max for all your Giveaways Needs

September 19, 2013 by Emilee Evans

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Sweepstakes Max. Regardless, this is a resource I use and recommend. All opinions are my own. Please see my Disclosure Policy for more information.
Sweepstakes Max
It’s no surprise I love giveaways! Not only do I love sharing giveaways with others, but I love entering giveaways and sweepstakes as well! I recently came across Sweepstakes Max, which offers the best of both worlds!
I am able to list my giveaways on Sweepstakes Max to spread the word and get my giveaways seen by more people. This helps to bring more traffic to my site. Sweepstakes Max may be fairly new, but I have already gotten a lot of traffic from their website. In fact, that is how I discovered them! I was receiving traffic from their site because someone else must have shared one of my giveaways on it! Of course, it only made sense then that I start sharing them there, too.
I’m actually very selective where I choose to promote my giveaways because I don’t have a lot of time to visit many different sites. I barely have enough time to keep up with everything as it is! There is nothing more discouraging than spending an hour posting your giveaways on various sites to only get a few hits over the entire length of the giveaway. So the fact that Sweepstakes Max was giving me traffic before I even knew about them was a pretty good clue that they have something special! I have been promoting my giveaways on there ever since, and I have not been disappointed!
By promoting my giveaways on Sweepstakes Max it also means more people have the chance to enter the giveaways I host and help promote! I absolutely love offering giveaways and emailing winners to let them know they won. It’s part of why I do what I do! So to be able to reach more people is wonderful! Posting my giveaways on Sweepstakes Max is quick and easy. They don’t require any hoops to jump through! No crazy signups, no required buttons or codes in your blog, etc. Just post your giveaway with all the details! That’s it!
On the flip side of Sweepstakes Max – it’s easy to find and enter giveaways as well!

You can register for a free account to make it even easier to keep track of the giveaways you have entered and connect with other sweepers. It’s a sweepers’ community! You can rate sweepstakes and post comments, filter results, sort listings, add listings to your queue, view listings in your queue, and even search listings. You can even use their handy auto-fill forms! I’m really amazed by all of the features Sweepstakes Max offers! If you’d like to see for yourself be sure to Take a Tour!
Whether you’re a blogger looking to promote your giveaways and sweeps or a sweeper looking to enter giveaways and sweeps (or both!) Sweepstakes Max is definitely a great site to check out!

My New Series! Grammar 101

July 16, 2013 by Emilee Evans

Grammar
When I decided to start a series on grammar I wasn’t sure if it was best in the “For Bloggers” Category or “Homeschool.” After much thought I decided to choose both.
As writers and bloggers I believe we should be very careful about using correct grammar. It shows that we are both serious and professional. It doesn’t come easily for everybody, though. We now live in a world of texting and 140 character status updates where abbreviations reign supreme. I fear some things may have gotten lost in translation. If you work with brands and sponsors presentation is important. Poor grammar can make an otherwise great article hard to read or appear unprofessional.
As homeschoolers (or parents in general) it’s important to teach our children grammar. We may even need additional help as well to do so! It almost seems to be a lost art, but it is still relevant and very important.
I will even venture to say many business owners can benefit from improved grammar as well. Maybe it is because I am particular about the subject, but when I am contacted by a business owner that uses incorrect grammar or visit a website that uses it, I have a hard time taking them seriously. Using correct grammar tells me you care about your business and are a professional. If you don’t take the extra time to do so (or hire an editor) I question how serious you are about your business. Yes, I have passed up a purchase based on my perception of an unprofessional appearance.
Grammar can be tricky, and to be 100% all the time may not be feasible. I am, by no means, an expert. I’m just a “grammar nerd” as I like to say! I will be covering many of the common grammar mistakes as well as sharing tips for those that aren’t as common. So whether you are looking for tips for yourself or your children, I hope you find my Grammar 101 series helpful!
Before I begin my series, what are some grammar topics you would like me to cover?
