I said when I began The Ultimate Blog Challenge I wouldn’t include review posts in my “post every day” requirements. I noticed many others do, and I figured, why not? After all, reviews aren’t just a copy and paste post. Although in a review we share factual information about a product or service, we also share our experience with the product(s) or service(s). It isn’t just informational, it’s personal.
In reviews I often share something about myself or my family as well, and it is written from my unique perspective. I also focus on not only being personal in my reviews but thorough as well. They generally take a considerable amount of time to compose and often include personal pictures as well, which means editing photos, too!
So, although I originally said I wasn’t going to include reviews in my one post every day requirement, I changed my mind – particularly now. I was up the entire night before we left for our trip to Houston not only getting things together for the trip but mostly trying to schedule posts for when I would be away. I scheduled the reviews (one with a giveaway! Yay!) I wanted to complete, but despite remaining up all night I was unable to schedule personal posts. Then, I came to the realization I mentioned above. My reviews are personal content as well!
So, here is my post for today! Yesterday’s was a review. Tomorrow’s is a review – and giveaway. I am still striving for more personal content outside of reviews this month, so I might change my mind back once we return from this little vacation. We’ll see! I can’t wait to share our trip with you! We’ve been having a blast!
Yes, of course your reviews are personal – how could they not be? And that’s the thing I like best about reviews – the personal touch. If I wanted just facts and figures, I could get the specs or the MSDS – it’s the perspective of another woman that I value when I read a review. And thanks for all the hard work you do – I can’t imagine how you great bloggers do it, I’d lose (what’s left of) my mind!!
Thank-you!
I agree!!
I think Sandy Cain covered it all in her comment – i WANT your reviews to be personal, so of course I think they should count in your challenge!
Thanks! ๐
You know, it’s hard doing reviews, editing photos, setting up giveaways, juggling family, jobs. No one expects anything more than what you offer. Remember, family first, social media second. But thank you for trying all of it!
Definitely. Family is always first!
The Ultimate Blog Challenge sounds intense! Not sure I could do it. But I think reviews definitely count, they’re a lot of work!
Yes, they are!
Eh – I think getting anything up that isn’t “no indexed” should count! ๐ It is super hard to be a mom AND blog – they both take time and obviously, one rates over the other. You rock and I love what you do!
Thank-you! ๐
I think you should totally count review posts! I do. They can really be a lot of time and work. You have to research, take photos, actually review the product, and all that is before you have even started typing! You are doing a really good job, BTW!
Thank-you!
Review posts are a lot of work .They require so much information and i agree with many other people oh here, you are doing a super good job.
Yes, they are! Thank-you!
I think you’re doing a good job. I would have a very difficult time doing what you do! So kudos, and keep that chin up. ๐
Thanks! ๐
