Deck of Devos

The Deck of Devos are a deck of cards with Family Devotions! I was so excited when I saw this idea because Bible time is an important part of our day, and I saw such potential in the Deck of Devos for making Family Devotions fun! When you have young kids it is always a good idea to mix things up, and, of course, with kids as young as ours, they retain so much more when they have fun!
The Deck of Devos includes 52 Family Devotionals and 11 special occasion devotionals. It includes a “Deck of Devos Index.” The Index lists all of the devotional topics on the left and the Title on the right. If you’re looking to discuss a specific topic, the Index makes it easy! You can find it in the Index by topic, and then you can look at the Title, which is in all capital letters, and go through the cards to find the title at the top!
Each card has a Lesson, Bible verse, Demonstration, Activity, and Application. Some also have props as well. Many can be done with objects you already have in your home, and the activities can be done right there at home as well! Because some of the cards do require props I do recommend planning ahead to be sure you do have everything for the devotional that day!
Our kids are ages 7, almost 6, and 3, and although our 3 year old wasn’t always engaged in the activities (which isn’t uncommon for him in general) the older two kids were, and they enjoyed the activities and were engaged in the discussion and application as well. Some of the questions did take a little more prompting and guidance to help them answer, but overall, I do think it is great even for families with children as young as ours!
We have been enjoying our Deck of Devos, and we have been using them 2-3 times per week to change up our usual family Bible time. It has really helped with the visual and hands-on activities to really help the kids to not only understand the lessons they are learning but how to apply them as well! There are three Christmas Devotions as well, and we will be doing them the 3 days leading up to Christmas! I think they are a great addition to our family Bible time and offer a variety of topics and lessons that are very relevant to many families.
