Food Should Taste Good Review

December 28, 2012 by Emilee Evans

Food Should Taste Good

I am always on the lookout for healthier snack alternatives, so I was very happy when I was told to check out Food Should Taste Good! Here are a few things that caught my attention:

  • Their chips are all natural and are made from real, simple ingredients.
  • All of their chip varieties are certified Kosher and Gluten Free, lower in sodium, and free of cholesterol, preservatives and trans fats.
  • They currently have 23 tortilla flavors and 4 Kettle Cooked Sweet Potato Flavors. Talk about variety!
  • All Tortilla Chips are certified vegan with the exception of Cheddar, White Cheddar and Chocolate.
  • They are a good source of dietary fiber.
  • They remain committed to using non-bioengineered ingredients in all of their products and are in the process of enrolling in the Non-GMO Project.

I also appreciate the history behind Food Should Taste Good:
Working at grocery stores and cooking at home, founder and CEO Pete Lescoe learned that natural ingredients and thoughtful preparation make great tasting food – the kind of food he wanted to serve family and friends. In 2006 Lescoe began creating distinctive flavors to give consumers new choices in all natural chips.
The company has grown beyond anything Lescoe anticipated, now the #1 natural tortilla chip brand in the U.S. and Canada. Based in Massachusetts, Food Should Taste Good, Inc. is a dynamic team of entrepreneurial individuals who embody values the brand is known for – simplicity, honesty and integrity. As the product offerings expand, the drive behind Food Should Taste Good remains focused on creating great tasting products that live up to both their quality standards and brand name.
I always love to hear entrepreneurial stories as well as a passion for offering natural products that taste good and are better for your health.

My review:

For my review I received a variety of Food Should Taste Good chips.  I received: Sweet Potato Tortilla Chips, Blue Corn Tortilla Chips, Chocolate Tortilla Chips, and Kettle Cooked Barbeque Sweet Potato Chips.

Food Should Taste Good

The family favorites were the Sweet Potato and Blue Corn Tortilla Chips. I, personally, really enjoyed the Chocolate Tortilla Chips because, well, I love chocolate, and it had a pleasant, subtle chocolate taste. We all enjoyed the Barbeque Sweet Potato Chips. Usually none of us like Barbeque chips, so I was very surprised by the natural barbeque flavor and even more surprised the kids liked them, too. Their company name really does fit the products. They really do taste good!
I looked over the ingredients and was really impressed! I felt good about eating them and giving them to my family. I love all the organic ingredients as well as the extra “good for you ingredients” like Flax Seeds and Oat Fiber in the Blue Corn Tortilla Chips. It’s nice to see a variety of real foods in the ingredients and no “fillers” and synthetic preservatives. They all had a good consistency and plenty of flavor. The tortilla chips didn’t leave that drying, irritating feeling on your lips you get sometimes with salty products yet the Sea Salt was more than sufficient for a nice flavor. We enjoyed them so much they are now our chips of choice, and we get excited when we see them at the store.
Food Should Taste Good Chips are sold nationally at Whole Foods Market, Starbucks, Safeway, Target and other major retailers.

I am very intrigued about the chocolate chips as I have never had them or knew anyone made such a chip. The fact that these chips are very healthy makes me want to try them. Thanks for reviewing them, I think they just got a new customer 😀

Thanks for your great review. I am constantly on the look out for snacks that are lower in sodium as my husband is on a low sodium diet. These chips really sound good. I’ll have to see if they carry them in my local supermarket.
