The Advantage of Packing Lunches in Advance

July 6, 2016 by Emilee Evans

As a homeschool family, something I didn’t often consider was packed lunches. I mean we’re home anyway, right? The only time I’d consider packing a lunch is when we would be going on a field trip. I have quickly learned, though, that our homeschool day goes a lot smoother when lunch is ready in advance. Plus, now that it’s summer, we like to homeschool and eat lunch outside. Having something to make lunch time easier is definitely a plus.
Goodbyn Review - Hero and Bynto
Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate my Goodbyn review. Regardless, all opinions are my own and those of my family.
Goodbyn offers reusable on-the-go containers that are perfect for taking meals on-the-go or simply having your lunches ready to go at home! Plus, when you pack your own lunches while out and about and even plan your lunches in advance at home, it’s easier to make healthy choices. Goodbyn offers a great variety, so there is something to fit any family member’s need.
Our kids have very different eating personalities. Our oldest son has a big appetite and eats just about anything, our daughter eats a variety of foods but not very much at a time, and our youngest son is a very picky eater. Needless to say, their lunches don’t look the same! Plus, it means I’m often making different things at lunch time, which was yet another reason to already have lunch ready!

Goodbyn Review

For our review we received two Goodbyn Bynto Containers and two Goodbyn Hero Containers. They both come in a variety of colors including: Blue, Green, Pink, Purple and Red. They are BPA and phthalate free. Plus, they are 100% recyclable. Something to make our lunches easier and better for the environment, too? A perfect fit for our family!
Plus, the Goodbyn containers make organizing meals simple! With the separate compartments, it’s easy to put together a complete lunch without the need of additional bags. Foods are kept separate without “extras.” Everything fits in one container for a no fuss meal whether you’re out and about or enjoying lunch at home. I love that there is zero waste and so convenient! Plus they have handles for easy portability!
You could really make it fun! Sometimes I just lack creativity, and with the craziness lately, that has been the case. I have seen some great pics of how people are using their Goodbyn Containers, though!

Goodbyn Review – Hero

Goodbyn Review - Hero Container
The Goodbyn Hero is a generously sized container that includes three compartments as well as two “dippers.” I found that even with food, I could generally fit the “dippers” inside the container as well. The large compartment can fit a full size sandwich, but since we cut them in little pieces, we can fit them in the smaller compartments. It leaves the large compartment open for a food item plus the “dippers” as well. Really, it’s flexible, so it can be used in multiple ways. I, personally, find I have plenty of food in the Hero alone without the “dippers.”

Goodbyn Review – Bynto

Goodbyn Review - Bynto Container
The Goodbyn Bynto has three compartments. Although it is smaller than the Hero, it has more than enough room for our younger kids that don’t eat as much. Plus, it even fits their 8 ounce drink bottle, which would be perfect for our kids! The Bynto does not come with any “dippers,” but they are available for individual sale. If your children eat little like our younger two, they would easily fit within the Bynto as well!

Goodbyn Review – The Advantage of Packing Lunches in Advance

Not only have the Goodbyn Containers been awesome for our trips out and about, but I’ve really seen a difference in how smoothly our day goes when lunch is as simple as grabbing their Bynto or Hero already packed with their lunch. It’s not uncommon that we decide to go on an impromptu trip to the park for bird watching or a hike. We simply grab our Goodbyn Containers and head on our way! It has really made such an improvement to our day!
One of the things I like best is that the kids want to pack their Goodbyn Containers themselves. They are learning responsibility while also having fun thinking of what to pack and how to pack it. Plus, it has allowed us to have more time to talk and enjoy lunch together because I’m not scrambling to make lunch in between our lessons. We prepare our Containers the night before or in the morning (depending on what we’re packing).

That’s great that the lunchbox fits extra containers also. I would definitely be able to fit all of my kids’ lunch in these. I’m sure they would like it because it would mean no more smashed lunches.
