I have heard so many good things about goat’s milk soap. I have heard how wonderful it is for your skin. Just like anything, though, they aren’t all created equally. When I learned about Girly Goats Handcrafted Goat’s Milk soap I knew it was something I must try!
The goat’s milk for Girly Goat’s comes from their herd of Nubian Dairy goats. Gwendolyn, Olivia, and all the other “girls” provide the fresh milk daily. No hum drum mass produced products here! They even milk the girls by hand, and their milk is used exclusively in their soaps. Each bar is hand poured and hand cut. They use natural ingredients including honey from their local beekeeper! Their soaps are cured for a minimum of 4 weeks before they are packaged for their customers.
Just reading about the processes that Girly Goat’s uses and the care they take to use natural ingredients and choosing to use honey from their local beekeeper rather than honey from an unknown source (because do we really know from where the honey on the store shelves came?) told me that they are unique and truly care about every part of their soap making process. In fact, even the cute packaging for the soaps is made from all recycled materials!
For my review I received a bar of Oatmeal Honey Goat’s milk soap. If the goat’s milk soap alone wasn’t appealing enough, the combination of oatmeal and honey as well definitely sounded amazing! I know they both have many benefits to the skin as well! Reading over the ingredient list I just knew it was going to be a skin soothing combination – it has Coconut Oil and Olive Oil as well!
The bar of soap was a very nice size – almost as big as my hand. It is beautifully ridged, and the oatmeal gives it a very nice texture as well! It also smells really good! We have been using it for a little over two weeks now, and there is still plenty left! It doesn’t seem to just dissolve over time like some soaps can. You may understand what I mean. It seems like every time you go in the shower or to your sink (or wherever the bar of soap may be) it is smaller than it was the last time you used it despite the fact that you hadn’t used it since then! My husband has been using this soap just as much as I have, so I’m really impressed with the longevity of the bar!
We both really enjoy the scent and texture and just as I expected from such a combination of ingredients and the goat’s milk – it leaves my skin very soft! The oatmeal gives it a little bit of an exfoliating touch but without the harsh texture. It is really refreshing. They noted on their website that it is a customer favorite, and I can see why. I think it is such a great combination! Not only am I avoiding harsh ingredients (which you probably know I tend to avoid regardless), but I’m also soothing my skin with many helpful ingredients. I think this is particularly important as the weather drops like it did over the past few days and my skin is more prone to getting more dry than usual.
I’m definitely glad I got to try the Girly Goat’s Oatmeal Honey Goat’s milk soap. I love that they are a company that supports natural living and puts a lot of care into their products and that they offer education, too! They offer local classes on soap making! How great is that? If I lived in Springfield, TN, I would definitely attend one! Their soaps would make great Christmas gifts for just about anyone on your list, so you should definitely head over to their soap store to check them out!

Wow! I would love to try this! I suffer from extremely dry skin in the winter!
Oh, it is so soothing on the skin!
I’ve never used goat’s milk soap before. It sounds interesting. I love that it’s ridged on the side. The Oatmeal Honey sounds awesome.
It is!
I would really like to try this! We go through bars of soap like crazy in my house. This seems like it would be perfect for us!
We usually do, too! I love that this has lasted longer!
This sounds amazing! I’m still getting used to using bar soap again after not using it since I was really young, so I’m not sure how I would like the ridges. I’ve been wanting to try goats milk soap for awhile, though! Their prices are excellent too!
Yes, I agree! That’s the other issue I’ve run into with goat’s milk soap is steep prices, and theirs are definitely affordable!
This really sounds nice! I love oatmeal and honey scents together and I have heard so many wonderful things about goat’s milk! What a lovely soap – I am definitely going to check it out!
sounds amazing….. 😀
I have heard such great things about using goats milk in beauty items. This sounds like a fabulous product, and I love the choices product combinations-even including the pups! The unique spin on washcloth soaps by using felt has me very intrigued.
I also am glad that someone else in this world has the same disappearing soap problem. I hate getting in the shower and notice that the bar is either dry and cracking or one-forth has miraculous dissipated into the air?!
Oh, I know! I hate when it is dry and cracking, too! The disappearing soap, though, yeah, I don’t get it! lol
I’ve never heard of using goat’s milk in beauty products. Everything is natural. I have the same problem with the soap evaporating. Seems like a new bar and you go back and it has dwindled down to nothing.
Yes, exactly!
Never tried goat’s milk soap but thanks to your review I now have. I guess this is one way I can have milk, I am lactose intolerant so cannot have it the internal way. lol
Ah yes, that isn’t good!
I’ve heard of, but never tried Goat’s milk products. I hear they are especially great for the dry winter months! I want to try these!
Yes, I’m so glad I tried it during this season!
The soap sounds luscious. Do you remember how long the bar lasted? Also, I am wondering if it could work on the pets.
I’m not completely sure, but it was a lot longer than I expected – particularly with two people using it!
