Our pets are family, so it’s important to us to use quality products that are beneficial. Just like ingredients are important to us, they are likewise as important for our fur babies as well! Finding a great pet shampoo that I can use for both our pup and our cat has been a little challenging, so I was excited for the opportunity review John Paul pet products!
Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate my John Paul Pet review. Regardless, all opinions are my own and those of my family.
When I first saw the emphasis John Paul Pet puts on the fact that the products aren’t tested on pets but rather on humans first, I knew this was a company I could trust. Right away I knew they see pets as family just like we do, and that’s important! Plus, their mission as a company is to educate and serve the pet community. I love it!
Our pup, Caprice, and our cat, Bart, have a lot of things in common – they’re both big, they love any kind of food (Bart even prefers to eat the dog food), they like to play with the kids, etc. What they do not have in common, though, is the type of cat they have. Caprice is a Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff), so she has a short, rough coat that sheds from the top coat. Bart is a Maine Coon, so he has a fluffy, long coat that sheds from the undercoat. So when it comes to bathing I have often had to just use different products for each!
That’s why I was intrigued by the Oatmeal Systems offered by John Paul Pet. The Oatmeal Systems are designed for both dogs and cats for soothing dry skin and coats. Caprice has very dry skin and while Bart doesn’t, I am always looking for something to keep his coat soft and manageable. I knew the Oatmeal Systems would be ideal products I could use for both pets!
For my review I received the Oatmeal Shampoo and Oatmeal Conditioning Spray. I love that they use Aloe, Chamomile and Sweet Almond Oil. They are all great ingredients for keeping healthy skin and a healthy coat. Both products have the same scent, and it is light and pleasant. Although it is light, it does a great job of actually keeping their coat smelling nice! Many times I find the scent is gone shortly after the bath, but these products have an enduring scent.
The Oatmeal Shampoo has a nice, thick consistency and lathers nicely. I found even for Caprice (who is 125lbs), I didn’t have to use an abundant amount. For Bart, I was able to easily work it through his long coat as well. It rinses nicely and doesn’t leave any residue.
The Oatmeal Conditioning Spray is amazing! It can be sprayed on either a damp or dry coat and them simply brushed through. It has really helped to keep Bart’s coat manageable, and he’s no longer getting tangles, which was a common problem. Plus, I can use the Conditioner Spray any time either of them needs freshening up without a bath. They can smell good without all the fuss!
Overall, I am definitely pleased with the John Paul Pet products. Caprice’s dry skin has seen major improvements, and she isn’t itching nearly as much! Her coat looks clean and shiny. For Bart, his coat is now softer and more manageable. Obviously, we bathe him less since he’s a cat, so the Oatmeal Spray has been great for not only keeping his coat soft and manageable, but keeping him fresh as well! Both of their coats look so healthy now!

These items sound wonderful and very moisturizing! I use the same organic shampoos and condeitioner on my fur babies that I use on myself and my little one. They deserve only the best as well! However, I think that 2 of my 3 dogs have a dry skin problem and they need a little more moisture so this shampoo and conditioner would be perfect! Thank for you the great giveaway 🙂

I love John Paul Pet because they do not test on animals
Thanks for such a thorough review on John Paul’s Pet Products. The spray sounds like exactly what I need to condition my cat’s fur and give it a wonderful fragrance instead of some stinky mess.
I like that the scent of the shampoo stays with the pet for awhile. I have never tried their products before but would like to try them out.
My furbabies mean the world to me, and over the years I’ve been swapping out foods and products that aren’t good for them for products that are. John Paul Pet’s sounds like a great product line and I’d really like to try these on my pets.
We adopted a cute senior dog (Mike) in January. He was a bit traumatized by living for years and years in a muddy yard with no one to love him. He also had this stiff, brittle dull coat. All of his fur fell out (I was a bit freaked by that) and he grew and an entire new soft curly coat! Now he needs a shampoo.
Aww. I am so glad you adopted him and gave him a loving home!
I really enjoyed reading your review about these wonderful John Paul Pet products. It gave me some hope for my Yorkies hair it tangles so easy. I think the shampoo and the spray would work wonders for him. He is the sweetest little dog and we try our best to keep him well groomed. We also have our Pug boy Toby. He does periodically itch so I am thinking the same for him. These 2 Great products should condition his hair tremendously.. Thankyou so much for Sharing this wonderful Product! :0)~~~~
You’re welcome! It definitely sounds like it would be perfect for your Yorkie!
I have a chi her skin so try she is a house dog she will not go outside I like the rises well with no residual I hope I win my baby need some help with the dry skin
My dog is short-haired but he often has itchy skin. I’ve tried different products but he still gets dry skin. The John-Paul line sounds like it might do the job. It’s difficult to find quality products.
I agree! It really is difficult!
I would love to try the conditioning spray on my fur-baby’s.
I really like the fact that John Paul Pet is NOT tested on animals.
Want to give this a try on my dog. This company sees pets as family and that’s the way I feel about my 4 legged child.
I haven’t tried John Paul pet products, but now I’m tempted to after reading your review. I think the Oatmeal Shampoo would be especially helpful for my pug, who suffers from dry skin.
This sounds like it is exactly what I have been looking for.more of us then not have furry family members,so this is great.thanks so very much for sharing.
I like that it has a lasting smell and is conditioning.
These pet products look very useful. Thanks for sharing!
I will have to try this with my doxies. Thank you for sharing!
