Keep Bugs Away Without the Chemicals!

May 31, 2015 by Emilee Evans

It’s no secret I am all about products without chemicals. Something that has been a “harder to find” chemical-free product is insect repellent. Many people are becoming aware of the dangers of DEET but finding a safe, DEET free, all natural bug repellent can be exhausting! Well, now you can enjoy your summer fun without the chemicals (or the bugs) with Mosquitno!
Mosquitno all natural bug repellent
Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate my review. Regardless, all opinions are my own and those of my family.
Mosquitno offers an all-natural bug repellent that is perfect for the whole family! They offer Spotz, which are fun, heavy duty citronella infused stickers that are easy to use and fun for the kids as well as a non-toxic citronella wristband for both adults and children! So there is no fuss, no mess, and best of all – no chemicals!
For our review, I received an assortment of Mosquitno products including both the Spotz and Bands. I received bands in both the Kids Size and Large Size.

First, I love the variety of colors. Not only do we get to enjoy bug-free outdoor fun, but we get to do it in fun and in style! Plus, as I’m sure you know, I also love products that are reusable. The Mosquitno all-natural citronella wristbands can be used for up to 6 days! They come in a little zip-lock package to preserve freshness! The Spotz last for up to 3 days, but I definitely found they are harder to preserve because they lose a little “stickiness,” of course, but I did put them in my own zip-lock bags between uses.
The Spotz come in a pack of 6, and there is a little “tear here” notch for each individual spot so you don’t have to open the whole package and expose them all at once. We simply got out the number we needed and the rest for still sealed in the package for more summer fun! They are really sturdy and do stick well on the first use. The kids love them and barely notice they are wearing them!
The bands have been a big hit with the whole family! They are lightweight, smell great, and are waterproof, so we can use them when we’re playing in the sprinklers as well! Plus it’s just fun to wear one! I love the text on them – “hey, don’t bite me please.” Ha! I love how long they last and how easy they are to use! It makes remembering bug repellent easy!

So did they work? In addition to not having to think about bug repellent, we haven’t had to think about the mosquitoes either, which is a huge relief! Plus, with our kids’ special needs, Mosquitno offers an alternative to sprays and lotions, which easily irritates them. We are definitely huge fans of Mosquitno products now and are thrilled we were introduced to them!
Something else that is amazing? Mosquitno will collect used bands and send them to a silicone recycler to be made into something new! For every 10 bands you return, they will send you 2 new bands for free โ€“ one to say thank you and one to cover your shipping!
Mosquitno bands and Spotz retail for $3.99 and are available at www.mosquitnoband.com , CVS Health, Meijer, Tractor Supply and many other local outdoor sporting, lawn & garden, hardware or grocery/pharmacy retailers.

Unfortunately, Avon uses a variety of chemicals, questionable ingredients, and artificial fragrances – including Skin So Soft. I do not use their products, and as an Eco-passionate promoter, I would not recommend them!

These sound awesome! I’ve started making our own bug spray, but a certain 2 year old in our house doesn’t like it because it makes her “wet” and she freaks out. :/ These would be good for her…assuming she would leave them on. ๐Ÿ˜€

I hate to use chemical sprays of any kind. The bands seem like a great
alternative. Fortunately we do not have to many mosquitos where we live now.

That’s nice! There aren’t as many mosquitoes where we live now, but they’re definitely still here!
