Noxicare Natural Pain Relief Cream Review and Giveaway (ends 8/28)

August 13, 2012 by Emilee Evans

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

I was really excited to try Noxicare for myself! Noxicare is a natural pain reliever cream, which definitely piqued my interest as not only do I strive to use only natural products, but I also strive to manage my Fibromyalgia pain and tension headaches naturally. Upon visiting their website I discovered both Fibromyalgia and tension headaches were mentioned as well as neuropathy, which is something that has plagued my husband since he had chemotherapy at the end of 2010. The first thing I did when I received the package was check the ingredients. It’s something I ALWAYS do. I was very impressed with the ingredients!
Here is a fantastic rundown on the ingredients from their website:

Turmeric

Turmeric

One of the most powerful natural pain relievers known to exist; recognized for its anti-inflammatory properties. Turmeric is a powerful herb in the ginger family that contains curcumin as its active ingredient. Curcumin provides the health benefits of turmeric and turmeric extract, useful as an anti-inflammatory agent and as an antioxidant. Studies have shown that turmeric may help reduce the pain and irritation experienced by patients with irritable bowel syndrome and its anti-inflammatory properties help to naturally relieve pain associated with arthritis by reducing inflammation in the joints.

Willow bark

Willow Bark

Has been used for natural pain relief and inflammation since the time of Ancient Egypt and Greece. The use of willow bark dates back thousands of years when patients chewed on the bark to reduce fever and inflammation. Willow bark continues to be used today for the treatment of pain (particularly low back pain, tension headaches and osteoarthritis), and inflammatory conditions such as bursitis and tendinitis.

Ginger

Ginger

Helps relieve muscle pains, arthritis and rheumatism, and is a catalyst for improving the effectiveness of other herbs. Ginger is an effective anti-inflammatory agent used for thousands of years to alleviate arthritis, headaches, rheumatism and sore throat, while also naturally relieving muscle strains and knee pains experienced by athletes. The medicinal part of ginger is the rhizome, an underground stem that most people refer to as the root. Western herbalists classify ginger as a carminative, which settles the intestine and eases pain by removing gas from the digestive tract. This versatile and useful herb also serves as a catalyst for improving the effectiveness of other natural pain relieving herbs found in Noxicare™.

Rosemary

Rosemary Extract

Has served a variety of purposes including topical use for joint or musculoskeletal pain. Ancient Egyptians knew to relieve musculoskeletal pain by rubbing rosemary extract oil into their skin. Today, rosemary has become important due to its natural pain relief ability, as well as stimulate hair growth, boost mental activity and relieve respiratory problems.

Holy basil

Holy Basil

Properties include anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial and antiviral. Holy Basil is a plant indigenous to India and extremely well-regarded as beneficial for many different health problems. Holy basil inhibits inflammatory-causing enzymes that contribute to arthritis and other types of pain caused by inflammation. Holy basil has antimicrobial and anti-viral properties, and expectorant properties as well, useful in respiratory tract infections and during respiratory stress.

Boswellia

Boswellia Extract

Boswellia is a genus of trees native to India known for their fragrant resin which has many pharmacological uses, particularly as an anti-inflammatory and pain reliever. Boswellia extracts and oils have been used to treat back pain and has been compared in effectiveness to steroids in treating Crohn’s disease and other intestinal problems—without causing ulcers like aspirin family medications.

Alpha Lipoic Acids

Alpha Lipoic Acids

Antioxidants used for treating diabetic neuropathy and increasing blood flow to the nerves. Acid Alpha Lipoic Acid is a natural pain relief antioxidant made by every cell in the body, and is also found in foods such as red meats and spinach. It is well known for its proven pain relieving abilities, particularly against numbness, burning and pain often associated with diabetic neuropathy.  ALA also helps vitamins C and E work better, and is used to treat and detox the liver.

My review: I used Noxicare for just under one week, but I felt like it was sufficient for a review! When it says it’s fast-acting natural pain relief– they mean it! It really is! I can usually tell when I’m going to get one of my tension headaches because it starts with pain in the back of my neck. My upper back and neck are often strained and in pain. I just had an appointment last week with my OMT (Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment), and although it definitely helps in the long-term it can leave the muscles sore the next couple of days, so the Noxicare arrived just in time! I used it on my upper back and neck into the bottom of my hairline (where the worst pain is when I’m experiencing a tension headache), and it actually prevented the headache! I have to admit I didn’t expect it to work the first time as I know it can take time using a product to receive the full affect (and I always suggest using it for a length of time to give it a fair chance), but wow! I was pleasantly surprised! The cream rubs on nicely, doesn’t feel oily, and doesn’t have an odor. It really doesn’t have much of a scent at all, which I really like – particularly because many scents are synthetic! My husband is going to start using it for his neuropathy as well, so when I have a follow up on that I will post about that as well! 🙂 Nothing has helped his chemo-induced neuropathy thus far including medications, but I am excited and will definitely be encouraging him to try it!

I love that it might work on my arthritis pain (a generous gift from the woman who hit us head on breaking my ankle) without side effects! As it stands, I pop ibuprofen like it’s candy with limited success, and I know it’s doing terrible things to me.
