Optics Lab Eye Health Products Review and Giveaway

April 25, 2013 by Emilee Evans

Eye Health Products

Ah Spring! My favorite season before it gets too blazing hot here in Texas, but also the season that disagrees with me the most thanks to my allergies. Add to that the fact that I wear contacts always, and my eyes can definitely get irritated. I have really bad eyesight, so I prefer to wear my contacts, so to say I wear them all the time isn’t an exaggeration. So finding products that are helpful for my eyes is important to me. I also have a bad family history when it comes to eyes, so I take extra care to make sure I’m taking care of my eyes. When spring comes and my allergies are in full force I rely on my natural tears to avoid rubbing my eyes, which I’ve always been told is bad for your eyes. Well, unfortunately, that isn’t always helpful, and I need something more.
Optics Lab offers eye health products that are perfect for the irritation of Spring as well as many other situations such as: getting make-up or debris out of your eyes as well as general eye health maintenance. The products I received for review are:
OcuFresh – helpful during allergy season to rinse away pollen and dust, eyewash to rid eyes of allergens or dust and debris – cleanses, soothes, refreshes – in easy to use single use sterile containers
MiniDrops – Lubricating drops for dry eyes
Eyecept – Rewetting drops for contacts
OcuSave – vitamins for long term eye health to protect eyes every day

My review:

The product I have been using most is definitely the Eyecept since I am a contacts wearer. I love that they come in individual tubes and are preservative free. They don’t make my eyes sting like some other contacts drops do, and the individual tube is extremely convenient! The individual tubes also help prevent cross contamination. Because they are preservative free it is safe to use daily.
The MiniDrops are very similar to the Eyecept and perfect if you don’t wear contacts and need to refresh and lubricate your eyes to combat irritation. When I don’t have my contacts in they get dry and irritated really easily, and the MiniDrops are the perfect solution! They also come in the individual tubes for convenience and to avoid cross contamination. So if your eyes often get dry the MiniDrops are a great solution!
The OcuFresh Eye Wash comes individual, single use bottles. OcuFresh comes with a rinse cup and is a full eye wash – perfect for helping to remove foreign objects in your eyes or even to help relieve discomfort. I used it after removing my contacts for a refreshing cleanse as my eyes were irritated from being outside. It really helps to relieve the irritation and leaves your eyes feeling renewed! I had never used an eye wash (aside from just putting a lot of drops of contact solution in my eyes, which is NOT a good alternative by the way), and I was surprised how easy it was to use and how much better my eyes felt afterwards! I forget what the pollen really does to them!
Overall, I’m glad I had the chance to try the variety of products from Optics Lab. My eyes feel so much better, and I’m so glad to have a new go-to for contacts rewetting drops! I love that the products are preservative free and individually packaged to prevent cross contamination. I think eye health is something we don’t think about often – including myself despite having a family history of eye problems, so this was a great reminder for me, too, that it is important to take care of your eyes!

I really don’t do anything about keeping my eyes healthy except eat carrotts which they say is good for your eyes. Mine do itch and get dry so this product would probably help me out
