PediaONE Review and Giveaway (ends 7/12)

June 28, 2013 by Emilee Evans

PediaOne

PediaONE® is an all natural oral rehydration solution specially formulated to effectively replace fluid, vitamins and minerals lost due to diarrhea, vomiting, or excessive sweating. It is made with all natural ingredients and tastes great so kids will actually drink it! There is no advantage to an oral rehydration solution if they don’t drink it! I was really excited to try it because we are very conscious of ingredients, and it’s really discouraging when something that is supposed to make your child feel better also contains ingredients that aren’t good for them. Not only is PediaONE free of artificial colors, flavors, and sweeteners, but it is also GMO free! It also has added vitamins and minerals to help speed up their recovery as well. So it’s all natural and has extra vitamins and minerals? It sounded like the perfect solution to me! Here is some more information on the PediaONE advantages:

  • All Natural – No artificial colors, flavors or sweeteners
  • Non-GMO Ingredients – No genetically modified ingredients; pesticide free
  • Special B & C Vitamin Blend – Added energy and immune function support
  • Zinc – Supplements zinc lost during diarrhea and vomiting, can help decrease the frequency, severity and the duration of illness
  • Calcium – Supports muscle function and nerve transmission
  • BPA-Free, PET Bottles – Packaged in highly recyclable bottles
  • Superior Taste – Encourages kids to drink the right amount of fluids for proper rehydration. When it tastes good…kids will drink it!

Our Review:

The PediaONE package couldn’t have arrived at a better time. We received it just a couple of days after our little guy’s surgery (he’s 3), and he was still having tummy troubles from the anesthesia. He’s pretty picky about flavors, though, so getting him to drink oral reydration solutions in the past has always been a battle. So I was not only excited that PediaONE offered a natural alternative that was much safer for him, but I was ready to put their flavors to the test and get our little guy feeling better. For our review we received three flavors: Mixed Berry, White Grape & Pear, and Citrus Blend. I did a taste test of the Mixed Berry first to determine if that would be a good one to start with. Wow! It really had a nice berry flavor. I was sure it would be a hit. So, I got out his dinosaur cup and poured him some. He drank it right up and asked for more! Success! Although I did receive individual bottles as well as the larger bottles he did still prefer to have it in his dinosaur cup regardless, but whatever makes him happy! I also love that the bottles are recyclable and BPA-Free. If you’re like me, you probably re-use bottles for other things around the home, and these bottles are wonderful for reusing!
So what about the other two flavors? I did a taste test of them before giving them to him as well, and I have to admit I enjoyed it so much I poured myself a glass of each every time! He liked the other flavors, too! It didn’t have any strange aftertaste either that I’ve noticed with other oral rehydration solutions. PediaONE really is a win-win. It tasted good so he actually drank it – and drank it regularly! I could see a difference in how he felt as well. He had more energy and wasn’t complaining that his stomach hurt as often. I think he really needed the extra hydration to get the rest of the anesthesia out of his system, and this was the first thing he would drink regularly since the surgery, so it made a big difference in his recovery!
Overall, I am really pleased with PediaONE. I’m impressed with the ingredients as well as the taste! It’s definitely the solution we will be turning to!

They’re still pretty new! 🙂 I’m happy to spread the word, though, because the alternatives aren’t good for our kids!
