Wow. The past 2-3 weeks have been crazy. We’ve been getting over the tail end of a cold or flu. We’ve been trying to get into our new routine with the homeschool Co-Op (which we ended up even missing once already because we were sick!). Plus I’ve been having technical issues with my site. So you may have noticed my posts were less frequent as of late. I still worked REALLY hard to keep everything up to date so there wasn’t too much of a lag despite everything. I’m extremely thankful for your patience, understanding, and prayers!
So the good news is everybody seems to be feeling better! We had a random incident last night with our oldest saying his stomach hurt, but today he is perfectly fine! Our schedule is also lightening up this week. Whereas we usually have the kids’ therapy on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the boys’ speech is now also switching to Mondays, which means the boys will “switch” on Mondays like they do on Wednesdays (one is in Speech while the other is in OT then they switch). So now we will only be having their therapy on Mondays and Wednesdays. This is a huge relief because I often feel on those days I am squeezing our homeschooling in, so I feel relieved we’ll have extra time to do more and take our time instead of feeling like we have to rush through it! It’s not that we’re not getting it done – it’s just that I’m not a fan of rushing through things. Although, sometimes I think they are! π
The technical issues on my site seem to be resolved as well. At least the main issues. You may notice my page speed is rather horrendous right now, so please bear with me as I continue to work on this. There was a javascript issue, which is what was making it difficult for me to make posts without a lot of random, unneccessary steps. It was exhausting and time consuming. I lost a lot of posts, too. They just disappeared. Not fun when you just typed A LOT! Add Fibro flare ups and migraines to everything, and there were days I was ready to throw in the towel! OK, I wouldn’t have REALLY done that, but I sure felt like taking a break for a while at the very least! Perserverance paid off, though, because here I am and everything is OK. π I’ll continue to work on the page speed, and I’ll be working on a few other things on my site as well! Stay tuned!
Some other exciting news? It’s also been keeping me busy, but it’s exciting nonetheless. As you know I have participated in the Fort Hood Army Wives Expos in the past with direct sales, which by the way, I have felt a HUGE relief since deciding to no longer actively pursue direct sales! Phew! What a great decsion! Rabbit trail aside, this is the first Expo I’ll be participating in as Pea of Sweetness. Yes, I will be representing THIS site as well as my personally made products. This means I need to get to sewing and printing and cutting more decals. This, in essence, is almost forcing me to FINALLY get going with my shop! This is super exciting for me! I’ll be making some cloth diapers, nursing covers, car and wall decals, aprons, swaddles, bibs, flower clips, and anything else I may come up with before the Expo! I’m also working hard on their website to get it up and running by the Expo as well! So yes, I’ve been busy in so many ways, but it’s so exciting! Want a sneak peek at some of the diapers I’ll be making? Check out the super cute prints!
Cute, right? I can’t wait to share the finished products! π
Overwhelmed & Special Thanks
Well, like with anything when you start to make changes it can be overwhelming! I have felt a bit of relief since my last announcement. Overall, though, I’m feeling overwhelmed. I have so much going on here on the website with the Reviews and Giveaways and being held to certain expectations that maybe I can’t deliver right now. I have updated my PR Friendly page at the bottom to reflect this. My goal is to bring products/giveaways that will both benefit my readers as well as helping to support small businesses with my Reviews and Giveaways. I will continue to do this because I’m loving it! I expected there will be some growing pains because that is exactly what Pea of Sweetness is doing right now – growing. It’s still very small in comparison to everything that’s out there, but I’m learning, connecting, networking, growing, etc. the best I can with the time I have! I’m learning to adjust our homeschooling schedule, doctors appointments, therapy appointments, workout schedule, business time schedule, housework, and just about every other schedule that exists and still have “me time” (I know you other moms are laughing right now. What is “me time” anyway? LOL) I played Diablo III last night for a little over an hour with my husband last night. I can’t remember the last time I did that! That used to be “our time” when the kids go to bed! We get on our computers and “nerd it up” together! haha I’ve been so busy with everything else that I was neglecting that time as well. It wasn’t just “me time,” it was “us time,” as crazy as it may sound to others out there that are probably thinking gaming isn’t exactly quality time, but we love it! π Oddly enough, the most interaction I’ve gotten on my Facebook Page in a while was when I posted about playing Diablo III. HAHAHA I’m not the only “gamer” out there I see! π
Special Thanks
I wanted to say Thank-you to those that have been so amazingly helpful over the last week when I’ve been feeling so overwhelmed – between the changes, hurting my neck, etc. (There are more changes to come, too, which is another special thanks to those that are still listening to all my random thoughts!) I appreciate all the wonderful bloggers I’ve connected with (please share your blog info in a comment so everyone can see how wonderful you are!), all of the wonderful business owners that are excited to participate in my reviews and giveaways (please share your business links below!), all of my readers, fans, friends, family, etc. Everyone has been so loving and patient as I grow my website, blog, my brand, my businesses, etc. THANK-YOU!!
My husband has been absolutely awesome through everything as we have prayed together to decide which direction to take, where to go from here, what to focus on, what to drop (like my previous announcement), what to offer and not offer, etc. I’m SO blessed to have such an amazing support in him! He’s my biggest fan! π
I want to give a special thank-you to my friend Christi because she is just such an AMAZING supporter – she’s my most loyal customer, one of my best friends, and is just overall amazing as she listens to just about EVERY little thing I have on my mind, which is A LOT! I’d love for you to visit her Scentsy FB Page and give it a “Like” π
Also I want to say thanks to my friend Charise who also has been such a good listener and always shares great links to helpful articles, answers all of my silly questions, etc. She has a business FB Page as well, so please give her a “Like” as well! π
They’re both part of an awesome little shopping group we have as well where we not only network together and share business advice, but we also share eco-friendly tips, “greener” living, natural products, etc. It’s awesome! π I’m sure I’ll do a little “feature” for each of our members as the group progresses! π
Stay Tuned
Thank-you again as I proceed to grow and make some changes. Please refer again to this postΒ for expected, upcoming changes, and I’ll add separate posts as they come along! I plan to bring more content as well, but again have been a little overwhelmed! No worries, though, it will come! π
