Wow. The past 2-3 weeks have been crazy. We’ve been getting over the tail end of a cold or flu. We’ve been trying to get into our new routine with the homeschool Co-Op (which we ended up even missing once already because we were sick!). Plus I’ve been having technical issues with my site. So you may have noticed my posts were less frequent as of late. I still worked REALLY hard to keep everything up to date so there wasn’t too much of a lag despite everything. I’m extremely thankful for your patience, understanding, and prayers!
So the good news is everybody seems to be feeling better! We had a random incident last night with our oldest saying his stomach hurt, but today he is perfectly fine! Our schedule is also lightening up this week. Whereas we usually have the kids’ therapy on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the boys’ speech is now also switching to Mondays, which means the boys will “switch” on Mondays like they do on Wednesdays (one is in Speech while the other is in OT then they switch). So now we will only be having their therapy on Mondays and Wednesdays. This is a huge relief because I often feel on those days I am squeezing our homeschooling in, so I feel relieved we’ll have extra time to do more and take our time instead of feeling like we have to rush through it! It’s not that we’re not getting it done – it’s just that I’m not a fan of rushing through things. Although, sometimes I think they are! ๐
The technical issues on my site seem to be resolved as well. At least the main issues. You may notice my page speed is rather horrendous right now, so please bear with me as I continue to work on this. There was a javascript issue, which is what was making it difficult for me to make posts without a lot of random, unneccessary steps. It was exhausting and time consuming. I lost a lot of posts, too. They just disappeared. Not fun when you just typed A LOT! Add Fibro flare ups and migraines to everything, and there were days I was ready to throw in the towel! OK, I wouldn’t have REALLY done that, but I sure felt like taking a break for a while at the very least! Perserverance paid off, though, because here I am and everything is OK. ๐ I’ll continue to work on the page speed, and I’ll be working on a few other things on my site as well! Stay tuned!
Some other exciting news? It’s also been keeping me busy, but it’s exciting nonetheless. As you know I have participated in the Fort Hood Army Wives Expos in the past with direct sales, which by the way, I have felt a HUGE relief since deciding to no longer actively pursue direct sales! Phew! What a great decsion! Rabbit trail aside, this is the first Expo I’ll be participating in as Pea of Sweetness. Yes, I will be representing THIS site as well as my personally made products. This means I need to get to sewing and printing and cutting more decals. This, in essence, is almost forcing me to FINALLY get going with my shop! This is super exciting for me! I’ll be making some cloth diapers, nursing covers, car and wall decals, aprons, swaddles, bibs, flower clips, and anything else I may come up with before the Expo! I’m also working hard on their website to get it up and running by the Expo as well! So yes, I’ve been busy in so many ways, but it’s so exciting! Want a sneak peek at some of the diapers I’ll be making? Check out the super cute prints!
Cute, right? I can’t wait to share the finished products! ๐
Catching Up… Again
I feel like I was finally catching up on things when we went out of town for a few days. We had such a great trip visiting family and friends it was hard to come back! I was able to post my Fishing Fridays because I had great reception at my Grandparents’ Lake House, but once we got to my Mother In-Law’s house, my reception was in and out. The internet stuff wasn’t going so well for me! So I ended up not being able to do much! Now we’re home again, and already loaded with doctor appointments and other things, but I’m going to work hard to catch up again! I haven’t been sleeping well the past few nights, which doesn’t help! I think it’s a combination of nerves knowing my husband’s Medical Retirement from the military is getting closer to the end and planning what we’ll do and where we’ll be moving after. We looked at houses while we were over in the Houston area as well, so I think that made it feel more “real.” Are we really going to be “settling” soon? We may end up having to rent for a little bit until we can get the VA loan, so it still won’t exactly feel like “settling,” so I do hope we’re able to pull some things together to make buying a house a possibility sooner! Even before my husband was in the military we moved at least once a year – sometimes more! Even though we were at his last duty station for 3 years we lived in 3 different homes! The longest we have ever lived in the same house/apartment/duplex is one year and a few months. Moving is EXHAUSTING – especially when you have kids and pets! I know many people in the military that do DITY moves (you move yourself), and we had to do that twice, and I don’t know how people can do that for every move! Sure, we had a few issues when the military moved us, and it was still somewhat exhausting, but SO much easier!! I know for sure if we could go straight to buying a home that would be such an amazing blessing!!
Well, I’m off to the littlest guy’s sleep study consult! It’s been a long time coming, right? haha I’m still curious how the actual sleep study will be done since he basically can’t fall asleep most of the time without nursing. I’m definitely curious what they will discover and I pray there will actually be an answer to his sleep concerns and he will begin to sleep well! Not only for my sake (because after 2 1/2 years of getting up every 2-3 hours I’m exhausted) but also for his because I think he will feel so much better, will be able to handle his sensory concerns better, will start to speak better, etc. I think everything will improve if he gets better sleep! We’ll see how it all goes!
Catching Up
Wow! What a whirlwind life has been! I have so many posts and ideas in my head that need to make it here! haha We had such a great visit when my mom and grandma were here that I’d love to share some of their visit as well! I had the big Fort Hood Army Wives Expo on Saturday where I represent Cloud 9 Parties, which was so much fun! I definitely have a post coming on that one as well! I have more great reviews to share! And amongst it all I’ve had sick kids and got so run down preparing for the Expo then being on my feet all day that I got sick, too! Phew! But the good news is since I’m sick and don’t have much of a voice that means we’re taking a few days off from homeschooling, which also means I can FINALLY catch up on everything on the computer!! WOOOO HOOOO!! I think it will take me a few days! haha I need a nice break to just sit down, though, because I feel like I’ve been go, go, go this whole month! I’m gladly welcoming in Fall and a new month! Of course, here in Texas it doesn’t actually feel like Fall, but it has been under 100 degrees, so that’s definitely a plus!
So, here is my post announcing that I am finally catching up! I am planning on keeping better track on my calendar as well now that we’ve gotten our Homeschool schedule pretty laid out as well as Dr appts, the kids’ therapy appts, etc. I’m ready to just pull it all together and get organized and be more disciplined this Fall! What are you looking forward to this Fall?
