Merry Christmas!

December 25, 2013 by Emilee Evans

Our family wishes you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I pray your Christmas is full of blessings, and I encourage you to take a moment today to remember the blessing we were given all those years ago. You may be struggling right now like our family, but we can rest our hope in Him because on this day a promise was fulfilled – a promise and a gift so precious that even when things are hard we can look up and know we are LOVED, and we are blessed. Whether you are giving or receiving gifts, take the time to remember our most precious gift – Jesus. I pray you find peace in the hustle and bustle and experience the true joy of today.

Merry Christmas

If you’re spending time with loved ones today, cherish your time together and spread the joy! If you’re missing loved ones today remember cherish the hope we will see them again some day and remember you’re never alone, and you are loved.

*Merry Christmas!*

VeggieTales: Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas

November 12, 2013 by Emilee Evans

Disclosure: As a VeggieTales Blogger I received the Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas DVD free of charge to facilitate my review. My opinions are my own and those of my family.

Merry Larry

Christmas is quickly approaching, and it’s easy to get caught up in all the goings on of the holidays. I don’t know about you, but I was surprised to see Christmas decorations out already! It seems to come earlier and earlier! I know I have also been caught up as well! It’s been very busy the past couple of weeks trying to keep up with sharing all the holiday cheer and product recommendations.
Merry LarryMerry Larry and the True Light of Christmas is just that! They are trying to make Spring Valley Mall the most spectacular mall for the Christmas season, and they’re going BIG! Bob is in charge of making it the best display yet, and he has gotten MANY lights, a train, and so much more. There was only one problem – the mall’s permanent elf. When “Merry Larry” meets a little girl with a big heart he is touched and goes out of his way to find her again and help her in her goal to give her neighbor a new house.
Imagine Bob’s surprise when they go to show their amazing display to the “big wig,” and it’s ALL GONE. All there is left is a Nativity in the closet, which brings back fond memories for him as well. Those memories remind him what Christmas is all about. I don’t want to spoil the whole story, but let’s just say the lights disappeared for a good cause, and it has a very happy ending!

Merry Larry

As always VeggieTales delivers a wonderful and important message. Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas really is a great reminder of what Christmas is all about. It’s not about the decorations, the lights, or even the shopping. It’s about our Savior and how much God gave us, and how much we can give to others. It delivers the message in a way that is both entertaining and easily understood.

Christmas shines most bright and true when you give the love God gave to you!

Do you know what else is unique about Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas? It is narrated by Si Robertson from Duck Commander! How fun is that? The kids don’t really know who he is as much as my husband and I do as we are fans, but they enjoyed Silas the Okra! The DVD also includes Behind the Scenes with Si Robertson, some fun singalongs, and a new song from Owl City featuring TobyMac!
If you are looking for a Christmas movie that your kids will enjoy that also conveys an important message about what Christmas is really about I would definitely recommend Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas. Our kids really enjoyed it and even discussed the true meaning of Christmas with each other as well! I love those moments!

KMart's Big Layaway Giveaway

September 18, 2012 by Emilee Evans

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Kmart for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

It's that time of year again. I'm already seeing holiday decorations at the stores! Maybe it's because I live in Texas and it doesn't feel much like Fall, but it's hard to believe the holidays are right around the corner! This year I have quite a few "bigger items" on our holiday gifts list! We really enjoy family activities, and I think it's about time we start taking family bike rides! The problem is we don't have bikes, and we can't exactly just go buy 4 bikes plus the toddler seat all at once! That's why I appreciate Layaway!

Here is the bike I know our oldest son will love!

Boy Bike

The great news is I found it at KMart, and they have free layaway right now! I remember even when I was a kid my parents used layaway at KMart! They have such a great layaway program! I also appreciate that their layaway program is year-round! Both of our boys' birthdays are the same week, and our daughter's birthday is right before Christmas, so when we are buying gifts we always have quite a few to buy! We don't buy them JUST when it times for the holidays, which is why I've found some layaway programs, like Walmart's, to be inopportune because it's only available for a short period of time! KMart's Layaway program is easy, available all the time, and I love that you can even manage it all online!

So I'm really excited to be able to take advantage of this special, and not only that but I also hope to win Kmart's Big Layaway Giveaway they have going on right now! There are going to be multiple chances to win, and to get the rest of our layaway purchase paid off all at once is awesome! What a great opportunity! Head over HERE for the full details! You definitely don't want to miss this!
