SeaBuck 7 Pet Supplement Review

February 17, 2014 by Emilee Evans

Disclosure: I received the products mentioned to facilitate my review. Regardless, all opinions are my own and those of my family.
pet supplements
When it comes to our pets’ health I’m always on the lookout for supplements that are not only beneficial but made with quality, natural ingredients as well. SeaBuck7 are 100% natural supplements made from premium, nutrient-rich Himalayan sea buckthorn berries. Sea buckthorn berries contain the highest concentration of Omega 7 to be found, which has proven to have a multitude of health benefits. Plus, something I always appreciate, they’re made in the USA.
Some of the noted benefits of Omega 7 include:

  • Digestive Health
  • Coat Health
  • Antioxidants

For my review I received the SeaBuck7 Dog Liquid Supplement, SeaBuck7 Cat Liquid Supplement, SeaBuck7 Omega 7 Oil Drops For Dogs & Cats and SeaBuck7 Skin Relief Stick.
SeaBuck7 Review
Both the Liquid Supplements and Omega 7 Oil Drops could be added to their food, which was the best and most convenient way to be sure both of them would receive their supplements regularly. Our cat (Maine Coon) receives 1oz. per day of the SeaBuck7 Cat Liquid Supplement as he is over 10lbs and 1/2 dropper of the Omega 7 Oil about 2 times per week.
Our pup (Italian Mastiff) receive 2oz. per day of the SeaBuck7 Dog Liquid Supplement because she is over 50lbs (well over 50lbs!) and 1 full dropper of the Omega 7 Oil about 3 times per week.
Omega 7 Dog Supplement
I generally pour a little food, add the supplements, then poor a little more food and mix it up. Neither pet has seemed to notice either way. They haven’t seemed more eager to eat after the addition nor have they shunned the food either. So it seems they generally just don’t notice it very much.
I started to notice improvements after about 2-3 weeks (and these have continued to improve). Our cat has a thick coat, and it is shinier and softer. He is generally healthy and doesn’t have digestive problems, so although I don’t notice changes, I feel good knowing I am offering him supplements that can support his immune system and digestive system as well.
Our mastiff has a short, coarse coat, and it’s her top coat that sheds rather than her undercoat – especially when she is stressed. I have noticed less of this and less flatulence which is a HORRIBLE problem. We are always looking for ways to help her digestive system because her stomach gets upset so easily, and the gas is a constant problem. To find something with natural ingredients that support her immune system and help her digestive problems as well is such a relief!
The Skin Relief Stick has also come in handy because our mastiff likes to “bury” her bones meaning she likes to hide it in a corner and pretend to cover it up. Because we have hard floors she often scrapes up her nose. The Skin Relief Stick is a great way to help heal the irritated skin on her nose.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get any good pictures of them for “Before” and “After” because they both make it difficult to get pictures! I have to grab candid shots. I did manage to get a shot after we have been using SeaBuck 7 of our cat’s shiny coat!
Bart
I’m definitely glad we were introduced to supplements with quality ingredients that the pets do well with and have so many positive benefits!

Catch-A-Poop Review

August 19, 2013 by Emilee Evans

Disclosure: I received a Catch-A-Poop in order to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own.

Catch-A-Poop

Catch-A-Poop is a new way to make cleaning up after your pup(s) a lot easier and much cleaner! Dog waste actually contaminates the ground and can pass intestinal parasites and infections to dogs as well as people. So not only is it important to clean up after our pups for sanitary/health reasons, but many of us HAVE to.
I know I would clean up after our mastiff regardless. Who wants that mess and contamination in their backyard? When you have young children on top of it (and a small yard to boot) it is most definitely important to not only clean up, but also to do so quickly! Many, like us, also live in rentals that require us to keep our yards clean!
Catch-A-Poop
There are so many options out there made for such a task, but most of them require bending over or aren’t very “clean.” Catch-A-Poop offers an alternative to all of it. It truly is a hands-free way to clean up after your pup. It is eco-friendly and includes bio-degradable bags that automatically seal ready for disposal! No messy clean-up and no mess left behind!
Plus, Catch-A-Poop has an adjustable pole. If you have back issues or just want to keep your distance, it is the perfect alternative! I found I can move a chair to the end of our patio and sit down while using it! No more bending over and scooping, which has always been hard on both my back and knees due to my chronic pain condition.
See more information:

Because our mastiff is always a little nervous it did take a couple of uses until she got used to the idea of the Catch-A-Poop being behind her. I imagine smaller dogs may feel this way at first as well, but it is really worth the patience! I just used positive reinforcement, and by day 3 it was no big deal! Our yard is now cleaner and safer for her and our family!
As I mentioned, Catch-A-Poop is not only more sanitary but also a better option for me as scooping can be painful. Now I can sit down, and clean up is a breeze! I don’t even have to tie the bag! I love that the bags are self sealing and bio-degradable as well!
As a former dog trainer I used to recommend products to my pet parents that I felt are beneficial, and Catch-A-Poop is definitely something I would have mentioned because it protects the health of both the dog and family and is convenient and environmentally friendly as well!

Premium Pork Chomps Review

July 4, 2013 by Emilee Evans

Pork Chomps
I received a box of assorted Pork Chomps and Premium Pork Chomps products for our mastiff, Caprice, to review. Pork Chomps offer a rawhide free solution for your dog to enjoy.
One of the biggest concerns I shared with the pet parents who took my dog training classes was the fact that rawhide is dangerous. It takes a very long time to digest and actually expands in the stomach, so if your pup manages to swallow a big piece it could get stuck and cause a blockage which could result in surgery – or worse. Sadly, I heard stories all the time about this happening and many didn’t have happy endings. Not to mention most rawhide products contain nasty chemicals that can be dangerous to our pups as well since it is not regulated in the USA. Not only did I want to keep them away from my pup, I didn’t want them in our home where our kids could touch them either!
So when we received this big box of Pork Chomps products I was excited to give them to her to try! Having a large breed dog, what we give her is also a concern because it is more likely she could chew off a big piece. I felt comfortable giving her Pork Chomps knowing they are 99.9% digestible. I also love that there are different varieties and styles. For our review we received a variety Stripz, Knots, Twists, and Earz. Some had a bacon flavor, were wrapped in a sweet potato, or just had the natural pork flavor. So not only are there a variety of styles, but there are a variety of styles as well! Read more about the Pork Chomps difference.

Pork Chomps

Caprice seemed to enjoy all of the different flavors and varieties. There wasn’t one she wouldn’t try! She didn’t seem to favor one type or flavor over the others, though she does like to “bury” the 9″ Knot to chew some now and save some for later! She doesn’t gobble them up like some dogs, but she is very bizarre about hiding her things. She usually hides them under the kids’ beds, but my favorite is when she puts it by the front door and puts a toy over it (think small My Little Pony toy). It’s not exactly hidden!
Something else I really enjoy is that I feel safe about using Pork Chomps, and I feel safe letting my kids touch them (with supervision and still washing their hands after handling of course). This isn’t always possible with natural bones (which is what we had gotten prior) because they may have sharp points, splinter, or basting that makes a big mess that is hard to wash off. Pork Chomps doesn’t stain and actually didn’t leave any color on our hands at all. So they’re able to play with her, which is really nice for all of them!
Another disadvantage of the natural bones is once the basting was gone she wouldn’t touch it anymore. Because Pork Chomps has a natural flavor dogs enjoy there is no worry or need for basting!
Pork Chomps is really a great rawhide free treat that is safer for your pup (and your family). With the variety of styles and flavors there is something for every pup!
