Spruce up your New Year's Snacks #LBFSTGCHEER

December 26, 2013 by Emilee Evans

Disclosure: I received a Holiday Entertaining Kit in order to share my experiences with you. Regardless, all opinions are my own.

Now that you’re settling down from Christmas (maybe?) it’s time to start planning your New Year’s Eve! Will you be hosting an event in your home or perhaps attending someone else’s? Regardless, you don’t want to be unprepared! You also don’t want to shop last minute! Start thinking about and planning your snacks and hors d’oeuvres now so when New Year’s Eve rolls around you already have a great line up for entertaining or great on-the-go options for taking to others’ events!
If you need something quick and easy you can definitely turn to something like one of my personal favorites like that pictured above: Artichoke Spinach Dip! Food Should Taste Good has a great Artichoke Spinach Dip recipe that goes great with a variety of their great gluten-free, certified Kosher chips! They most recommend their Olive, “The Works!,” and Multigrain chips for the perfect pairing, though!
I got an extra treat with my Holiday Entertaining Kit, though, in addition to three bags of Food Should Taste Good Chips and holiday entertaining utensils – LARABAR bars! Now there is a chance to be just a little more adventurous with the recipes this New Year’s Eve and still keep them healthy as well! Exciting right?
LBFSTG
Talk about an amazing entertaining combination! There wasn’t a LARABAR bar included I didn’t like! My favorite Larabar recipe was also the simplest recipe. Since I’m a busy mom, simple often wins! There is a tasty recipe for Peanut Butter Chocolate Pops using their Peanut Butter Cookie LARABAR bars. You can check out this tasty Peanut Butter Chocolate Pops recipe in this pin on LARABAR’s Pinterest! I love that it uses very few (and very simple) ingredients. If you are not the one hosting a get together but will be heading out to one, these Peanut Butter Chocolate Pops would also be great for an on-the-go treat!
Whether you’re looking for sweet, savory, or both Food Should Taste Good and LARABAR have you covered! They’re both a healthier option as well! So grab some chips from Food Should Taste Good and some LARABAR bars and make some tasty recipes and spread some New Year’s Cheer!

All Natural Meal Replacement Bars Review

April 28, 2013 by Emilee Evans

Protein bar
I am a big fan of meal replacement bars because I am so busy. They can be a quick go-to when I’m in pinch. The problem is, though, a lot of them contain artificial ingredients, too many calories, or they just don’t taste good! I was definitely excited to try the 100% All Natural Meal Replacement Bars from Pure Fitness Nutrition. They use 25 grams of whey isolate protein, clean raw oats, agave, and honey. Just that alone was enough to make me want to try them! Then they add other natural ingredients to make some tasty flavors. For my review I got to try the Peanut Butter & Jelly Crunch, Banana Chocolate Nut, and Dark Chocolate Cranberry.

protein bars

When I first received them the first thing I noticed was the size! I knew with the size and the ingredients these definitely would pack a hearty punch! I tried the Peanut Butter & Jelly Crunch first because seriously, how could I resist? It tasted as good as it sounds! And my assumption was right – it was very filling. It is made with all natural peanut butter, all natural strawberry, a little sea salt, and a bit of natural whole wheat pretzels for the “crunch.” It is amazing! It was everything I look for in a meal replacement bar – healthy ingredients, tastes good, and is filling. I really like the texture as well. There was no weird coating like some bars have. It is just a good, full texture. You can tell it really is made by hand.
I was afraid I wouldn’t like the Dark Chocolate Cranberry, to be honest, but I was pleasantly surprised! With dark cocoa and cranberries it also has some anti-oxidant power! They don’t add any extra sugar to the dehydrated cranberries, either, which is definitely important to me! Again, the texture was amazing, and the taste was actually a little sweet despite what I pictured in my mind! I really enjoyed the Dark Chocolate Cranberry as well!
I got to try about half of the Banana Chocolate Nut before the kids stole it from me, but with ingredients like this, I felt comfortable letting them split the other half! They loved it! Again, it has a great texture, and the chunks of organic chocolate really add to it! They also use chia seeds, which have awesome health benefits!
Overall, I enjoyed all three flavors and am really excited I found meal replacement bars that not only “fit” my standards but actually surpass them!
Disclosure: I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. I am not required to write a positive review. My opinions are my own and may be different than yours.

Have you been looking for a salty snack alternative to satisfy your need for salt, but still be healthy?  Maybe you want to cut out processed foods and go to a more all natural diet but have not found the right snacking option?  Have you heard of Beanitos?  Beanitos are all-natural bean chips that can meet those needs!  Head over to Savory Savings to read her full review about why these chips are amazing but in the mean time here are a few of my favorite things about Beanitos and why you might want to give them a try:

  • gluten-free,
  • corn-free,
  • all natural,
  • no preservatives,
  • no MSG,
  • high in fiber
  • non-GMO

Is that not a great list of things to read about a snack chip?  While all of that is great – I am sure you are wondering, “But what about the taste?”  Do not worry – these chips taste great, too!  They are light, crispy and lightly salted.  You can enjoy them alone, or with dips and salsas – yum!
Would you like to win some Beanitos to try?  Enter the giveaway below for your chance to win a case of Beanitos!  Good luck!
