Yep, it’s January, and with January comes big party kickoffs for EVERY business! Oh my goodness! I’m glad I made the decision last month to set my priorities or I’d be pretty torn (or overwhelmed) right now. Amazingly almost all of my businesses have something at least somewhat close to me – and even on different days at different times! But could I really be away from my family that long? Plus, I have a retreat with our new church the last weekend in January as well! Wow!! So could I have made it to them all? Yes. Should I? No.
But why not? Isn’t it important? Of course it is! It’s particularly important if you’re really looking to build that business! And you better believe I WILL be at Nerium’s Real Resolution Bash next weekend in Dallas! Care to join me? Let me know! π I am even going to make it to Initials, Inc.’s National Meeting Day – right after my retreat ends! haha Luckily it’s not very far at all! If you’re an Initials, Inc. customer you will enjoy it, too! So again, let me know if you’d like to join me! I could have made it to the others, too, probably, but I had to decide. I have boxes to unpack, kids that are still out of routine as it is, and things to plan! One deciding factor for me was the cost. The two I’m going to are FREE! It doesn’t get better than that! π So to decide to spend a few more hours away from home for $50 – well, that made the decision pretty easy for me! π You see, it would be nice, and it’s not the $50 that’s the problem – it’s just that the combination of the two didn’t fit into my priorities. I have a hard time saying “No” to people. I always have. It can be hard in direct sales and network marketing because there is always somebody to say “no” toΒ (if no is the case). I’m blessed that I have wonderful friends/sponsors that understand and don’t push me beyond what I’ve stated I’m wanting to do – yet do encourage me do what I’m wanting to do! I try to give that same balance to my friends that join my teams! It’s getting easier for me now because a) I actually KNOW what it is I want to get out of each endeavor, and b) I’m growing in general to be able to say “no, that doesn’t fit my needs right now.” I am better able to just be boldly say what our needs are – and what they aren’t!
Whether you have one business or 10 – you HAVE to be decisive! You HAVE to say – this is how much time I can commit to it, and this is how much time I NEED to commit to myself, my spouse, my family, and this is how much time I can commit to everything else. So what is it for you? How do you balance your time? If you work outside the home you probably already have a work schedule. It’s not often people can just go in when they want and go home whenever they feel like it! If you work from home, though, what determines your “office or work hours?” That is something I, personally, am trying to work on! So many people have their “office or work hours” during the day, but with a full homeschool schedule that is not at all ideal for our family! So I’m still trying to figure out what works for us! I have learned first-hand, though, that without set hours it is really easy to get caught up in stuff and the time just slips away! I figure since January is already a jam-packed, busy month it’s as good a time as any to get that all worked out! π
