A Personalized Book full of Adventure

November 24, 2015 by Emilee Evans

Our kids love products that are made just for them. It really makes them feel special. When I was introduced to Crayon Crunch I knew the personalized book they offer is something our kids would love!

Disclosure: I received a complimentary product to facilitate my review. Regardless, all opinions are my own and those of my family.
Crayon Crunch offers personalized gifts for kids. They offer the first-ever printed personalized book where the main character can be customized to look like any child. They celebrate diversity and offer characters of all ethnicities and disabilities. Their goal is to take every child on an adventure! In fact, they even note that if there isn’t an illustration that resembles your child they will go out of their way to make one! Amazing, right?
For our review we received the My Magical Adventure book for our youngest son, Chaz.
My Magical Adventure Personalized Book
I love that My Magical Adventure is completely animated. I love that you can choose the character and that they offer so many options! The character in Chaz’s book has his hair and eye color and even wavy hair, which is similar to what it looks like when it’s longer. He was really excited about it! In fact, our older two children were excited for him as well!
Another feature of My Magical Adventure is that Chaz is the main character, so we got to follow him all through the adventure. His name is used multiple times as well as the letter “C” because that’s the first letter in his name.
Personalized Book from Crayon Crunch
In My Magical Adventure Chaz finds a magical box in the attic and goes on a pretend journey in order to find the key that unlocks the box. He travels through different places, meets different people and even gets to be different people as each new place they determine he’s someone else – an artist, a clown, a pirate and more. He ultimately learns, though, that it’s best to just be Chaz!
I think this is such a great message. Having three special needs children, they often feel like they are different. Chaz is still a little young to express these feelings, but I think a message just like this is exactly what he needs to know he’s perfect just the way he is!
Finally, he finds the key which leads to a personal letter that we wrote. I loved this feature because it really helps make it that much more personal. I felt like we were able to share a personal message of encouragement and love.
Crayon Crunch Personalized Book Review
Overall, I think My Magical Adventure offered by Crayon Crunch is wonderful. The story is fun and exciting, it includes your child in the story and you get to leave a personal message as well. It’s a book that will be treasured for a long time!

NOAH – A Wordless Picture Book

November 21, 2014 by Emilee Evans

Our children are beginning readers. Well, at least our older two are. Our preschooler is a “pre-reader.” Because they love stories and are very visual, there are times they just want to “read” the story through pictures. Because not all stories were designed to be read this way, it isn’t always an option, so I was excited for the chance to review a wordless picture book portraying the story of Noah.
Disclosure (in accordance with the FTC’s 16 CFR, Part 255: “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising”): Many thanks to Propeller Consulting, LLC for providing a sample of the product in exchange for this review and post. All opinions are my own and those of my family.
NOAH Wordless picture bookNOAH is a beautiful wordless picture book with 64 pages of beautiful illustrations that tell the story of Noah. It’s a story many children already know, but here was a chance for our children to discover it all over again without the stress of trying to read words or waiting for reading time. They can get it out and look through it whenever they want, which is my favorite part.
The illustrations are just beautiful, and it really keeps their attention. Not only do they flip through the book and tell each other the story out loud, but I’ve also noticed they are paying attention to finer details, which is really unique. They don’t just look at a page, state what is going on, and move on. They look at everything on the page and note every detail.
NOAH Picture Book
Our daughter especially loves “reading” NOAH. She loves to note all the details about the animals and the story itself. Although it is illustrated, I find it’s not depicted in a cartoon-like way but rather a more natural way. This definitely didn’t deter the kids from enjoying it, though, and I really appreciate that they get so involved in it and acknowledge it’s a very real story indeed and not just fun cartoon-like characters.
There is a bit of fun mixed in with the story, too, though! There is a little mouse named “Squeakers” who appears on every page, and it can be quite fun trying to find Squeakers!
NOAH is a beautifully illustrated picture book that is great for kids and adults alike. Our children can sit down together and tell each other the story, which I just love! I would recommend it for families with children of all ages!
