VeggieTales Veggies in Space

March 12, 2014 by Emilee Evans

VeggieTales Veggies in Space Review
Disclosure: As a VeggieTales Blogger, I received the Veggies in Space: The Fennel Frontier DVD to facilitate my Veggies in Space review. Regardless, all opinions are my own and those of my family.
The newest movie from VeggieTales was released March 11th, 2013 – Veggies in Space: The Fennel Frontier. We couldn’t be more excited! The focus of Veggies in Space is sharing, and with three young children, the subject of sharing comes up often! As always, VeggieTales addresses sharing in a way that is fun and relevant to them that incorporates our faith as well. It’s what I always appreciate about VeggieTales movies! There are subjects we try to teach over and over again that they just take in better after watching a VeggieTales movie that addresses it!
Here is the synopsis:

Join Captain Cuke (Larry the Cucumber) and his loyal first officer, Mr. Spork (Bob the Tomato), as they embark on an out of this world adventure to save the galaxy from a menacing space pirate. The surprising reason behind Luntar the Looter’s power-stealing antics lead the entire Veggie crew to learn a valuable lesson about sharing: if you have enough to spare, you have enough to share!

Ever since watching the movie our older two children have been discussing sharing more frequently. They have been talking about how it is the right thing to do, and “if you have enough to spare, you have enough to share!” I love that we can discuss the movie and reinforce the lesson learned. Our oldest has also been saying sharing is what God wants us to do. It always warms my heart to hear him say that!
In Veggies in Space Captain Cuke and Mr. Spork both have a hard time sharing, and when they meet someone who understands sharing they are actually really confused. Why would you WANT to share? I really feel the way it is presented is a way that children can understand as they all have something they like and don’t want to share. In the end, though, they learn a very important message that makes an impact on Luntar the Looter as well!

Once again VeggieTales delivered! Our kids have already watched Veggies in Space multiple times since it arrived, and have already been telling their friends about it! Now you can purchase Veggies in Space: The Fennel Frontier as well! Be sure to check out all the great free downloadable activities for Veggies in Space as well!
