Handcrafted Goat's Milk Soap – Girly Goats

December 8, 2013 by Emilee Evans

Disclosure: I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. All opinions are my own.
Girly Goats
I have heard so many good things about goat’s milk soap. I have heard how wonderful it is for your skin. Just like anything, though, they aren’t all created equally. When I learned about Girly Goats Handcrafted Goat’s Milk soap I knew it was something I must try!
The goat’s milk for Girly Goat’s comes from their herd of Nubian Dairy goats. Gwendolyn, Olivia, and all the other “girls” provide the fresh milk daily. No hum drum mass produced products here! They even milk the girls by hand, and their milk is used exclusively in their soaps. Each bar is hand poured and hand cut. They use natural ingredients including honey from their local beekeeper! Their soaps are cured for a minimum of 4 weeks before they are packaged for their customers.
Just reading about the processes that Girly Goat’s uses and the care they take to use natural ingredients and choosing to use honey from their local beekeeper rather than honey from an unknown source (because do we really know from where the honey on the store shelves came?) told me that they are unique and truly care about every part of their soap making process. In fact, even the cute packaging for the soaps is made from all recycled materials!
Girly Goat's Review
For my review I received a bar of Oatmeal Honey Goat’s milk soap. If the goat’s milk soap alone wasn’t appealing enough, the combination of oatmeal and honey as well definitely sounded amazing! I know they both have many benefits to the skin as well! Reading over the ingredient list I just knew it was going to be a skin soothing combination – it has Coconut Oil and Olive Oil as well!
The bar of soap was a very nice size – almost as big as my hand. It is beautifully ridged, and the oatmeal gives it a very nice texture as well! It also smells really good! We have been using it for a little over two weeks now, and there is still plenty left! It doesn’t seem to just dissolve over time like some soaps can. You may understand what I mean. It seems like every time you go in the shower or to your sink (or wherever the bar of soap may be) it is smaller than it was the last time you used it despite the fact that you hadn’t used it since then! My husband has been using this soap just as much as I have, so I’m really impressed with the longevity of the bar!
We both really enjoy the scent and texture and just as I expected from such a combination of ingredients and the goat’s milk – it leaves my skin very soft! The oatmeal gives it a little bit of an exfoliating touch but without the harsh texture. It is really refreshing. They noted on their website that it is a customer favorite, and I can see why. I think it is such a great combination! Not only am I avoiding harsh ingredients (which you probably know I tend to avoid regardless), but I’m also soothing my skin with many helpful ingredients. I think this is particularly important as the weather drops like it did over the past few days and my skin is more prone to getting more dry than usual.
I’m definitely glad I got to try the Girly Goat’s Oatmeal Honey Goat’s milk soap. I love that they are a company that supports natural living and puts a lot of care into their products and that they offer education, too! They offer local classes on soap making! How great is that? If I lived in Springfield, TN, I would definitely attend one! Their soaps would make great Christmas gifts for just about anyone on your list, so you should definitely head over to their soap store to check them out!

Spark of Amber Review

Amber jewelry

I received an adult Baltic Amber necklace from Spark of Amber for review. Spark of Amber sells all natural Baltic Amber teething jewelry (necklaces and bracelets) and also 100% natural Baltic Amber jewelry for adults. They offer a wide variety of beautiful Baltic Amber products such as: necklaces, anklets, pendants, earrings, bracelets, rings, and more from the best Amber from Lithuania and the Baltic region!
I have always heard of the benefits of Amber jewelry as well as the importance of making sure they are from a great source. So when I was excited to not only see all of the variety Spark of Amber offers as well as their source. I do regret we didn’t have a chance to try a teething necklace when the kids were younger! Regardless, I know Amber jewelry has benefits for adults as well – not to mention it looks lovely. I received my RAW Baltic Amber necklace and fell in love! Even the closure is Amber! It simply screws together and is very well built. I am very impressed by the quality. It is very light, and I barely notice I have it on!

Plus, it is so versatile. I can wear my Amber necklace with just about anything, which means I can reap the benefits and still be stylish as well! It is only 17″ so it is also the perfect fit where it looks nice, doesn’t dangle or get in the way. The color varies with each piece, which lets me know it truly is natural! I cannot attest to the benefits yet, but I am sure as I continue to wear it I will notice the difference!
I am really impressed by the variety of products offered by Spark of Amber and extremely happy with the quality of my necklace. Spark of Amber ships all of their items FREE in the US via First Class mail plus they ship them within 3 business days! I was surprised how quickly I received mine!

Indie Lee Review

June 8, 2012 by Emilee Evans

Disclosure: I received free product(s) to facilitate a review on my website. This does not affect my opinion/review of the product(s). I share my honest opinion on products I feel will benefit my readers. My opinions are my own and may differ from your opinions. For more information please see my Disclosure Policy.
I was recently contacted by one of my readers (thank-you!) who noticed I do reviews for natural products and suggested I check out Indie Lee. I love learning about other natural products and continue to get excited when I see more awareness being spread about good ingredients and ingredients to avoid, and when I visited Indie Lee’s Website the first thing that stood out to me was this was not just a place to shop for natural products it also had a lot of educational value!
She is not only very informative on the good ingredients as well as ingredients to avoid she adds even more to her learning center by including wonderful Resources as well as tutorials on how to make your own natural products! I was just overall amazed by her website and so excited to have been introduced to it! I explored the whole site! I discovered her story and her mission to natural products began after having been diagnosed with a brain tumor. Our journey for natural products also began with cancer – my husband’s. I appreciate her passion for education, awareness, and overall natural beauty!
When I contacted Indie Lee I was given a choice of what product(s) I would like to try! Wow! It was so hard to choose! There are just so many wonderful products available! We had a pressing problem, though – our toddler was constantly battling a red bottom! When I saw there was a Diaper Balm, I knew I wanted to try it! The ingredients also appeared to be cloth diaper friendly! There are so many diaper treatments out there that are supposed to be cloth diaper friendly, but I still find myself using liners or just fully using disposables while it clears up. This just isn’t ideal for me, but I wanted to try everything! Not only that, but everything I had been trying wasn’t working!
Was it a yeast rash? No, the anti-fungal creams weren’t helping either! He just has super sensitive skin! I noticed the Diaper Balm didn’t have any claims to help diaper rash rather just apply between diaper changes, so I honestly didn’t know what to expect, but with ingredients that natural I knew I had to try it!

When I got the package – I was SO excited! I couldn’t wait to open it! I was also sent a couple of wonderful product to try for myself. The first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful packaging! I was excited to try everything! I tried the Diaper Balm immediately that night. I was very pleased with the balm consistency because, let’s face it, those creams can get out of hand! They’re messy, don’t generally smell good, and hard to wash off. This balm was not messy, easy to apply, smelled good, and didn’t leave a residue on my hands. I was about to put it to a BIG test, though! Night time is obviously hard when your toddler has irritation in the diaper area because they wear that diaper for a longer period of time. Wouldn’t you know he woke up and WASN’T RED!
I admit I was a little shocked! Because our toddler also has sensory concerns the irritation is pure torture for him. It was breaking my heart that he cried every time I changed his diaper! So not only was he not red, but I also didn’t have to fight him during a diaper change and feel horrible knowing he was hurting so much! Not only has it been wonderful for keeping his diaper area free of irritation I did not experience a single leak with our cloth diapers! Again, something I hadn’t experienced before. Even most “cloth diaper safe” creams caused a little bit of repelling, so I was extremely excited! What a pleasant experience!
The other products I got to try for myself were the Coconut Citrus Body Scrub and Lavender Moisturizing Oil. I have purchased natural Body Scrubs in the past, and although I appreciated the ingredients the consistency hasn’t always been desirable. Sometimes I loved the consistency of the Body Scrub, and the light Coconut Citrus scent was wonderful! The moisturizing oil glides on nicely and has the wonderful lavender scent – my favorite scent! 🙂 It makes my skin feel so soft!

I am so excited to have found not only these wonderful natural products but also the wealth of information she has put on her website! Thank-you, Indie Lee, for this wonderful opportunity to review your products and sharing your passion and all the wonderful resources!
