Handmade Bath Products – School of Wash {Review}

July 27, 2013 by Emilee Evans

Disclosure I received the products mentioned from School of Wash to facilitate my review. All opinions are 100% my own.
handmade bath products
School of Wash offers a variety of handmade bath products for the whole family. For my review I received something for everyone – including the pets! Because I love lavender I was sent products with lavender combination scents to try. When I learned they use essential oils for the lavender combinations I was even more excited since I try to stick to essential oils since they are natural. I LOVE essential oils! After looking further I learned they offer a wide variety of products with essential oils!
When I received the package I was thrilled! Everything smelled so good! I received bubble bath for the kids, body wash for my husband, pet perfume for the pets, and a wonderful foot scrub for myself. I might be a little partial to the foot scrub because it made me feel pampered. 😉
The Kids Handmade Super Foaming Bubble Bath comes in the cutest little container. It is a Lavender Vanilla scent, which I love. That is probably one of my favorite scent combinations. I only needed to pour a little in to make plenty of bubbles for the kids to enjoy! They lasted during our 3 year olds whole bath, too, which is nice because that doesn’t always happen!

My husband received the Lemon Lavender Handmade Body Wash for men. I am generally not a fan of lemon, but this combination surprised me. I actually liked it so much I used some myself! I really like how the texture of this body wash is a little thick and not runny. Yes, I let my husband use it, too! He enjoys it as well. You don’t have to use a lot, either, which is always a bonus.
I received the Lavender Vanilla Handmade Whipped Pumice Foot Scrub for myself. It has a very thick texture and exfoliates nicely. It even lathers a bit, and my feet feel really clean and soft after. Of course, I love the lavender scent! I have never used a scrub with pumice, and it makes quite a difference! I really enjoy the texture and results of this foot scrub!
Our pets received the Lulu’s Pet Spritz in the Lavender Vanilla Scent. This is a much needed product because we are not able to bathe our dog as often as we would like! She is too big to fit in our tiny shower, and the kids’ tub has a sliding door, so we can’t manage to get her in there either. So we have to tie her up and wash her with the hose while she freaks out about it or resort to taking her to the self-serve dog wash. It’s really not a fun ordeal. So, a little freshening up in between is a great solution! Plus, it’s gentle enough to use on our cat, too! Now they can both smell good!
I love that School of Wash is a small mom and daughter owned business. They make the products fresh upon ordering. Their products are Paraben-free, Talc-free, SLS-free, Sulfate-free, and contain no dyes!

Litter Getter All Natural Attractant with Odor Control

July 19, 2013 by Emilee Evans

Disclosure: I received the product mentioned for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
Litter Getter
Have you ever had a problem with your cat going where he shouldn’t go? Or do you have a new kitten that needs encouragement to start using the litter box? Litter Getter is an all natural litter box attractant with odor control that clumps with standard clumping litters. Because it is all natural it is also safe to use and gentle on sensitive paws. Litter Getter attracts cats and kittens back to the litter box while also naturally reducing the ammonia smell.
Litter Getter
We ran into a litter problem here in our house. We have a self-cleaning litter box. We hate it. We only have one cat, but we have to clean it almost every 2 weeks in order for it to stay fresh. Because you can only buy the specific litter trays that was costing almost $40/month! $40/month on litter! Outrageous! So I had to start cleaning out the self-cleaning litter box in order to make the litter (and our dollars) last longer. The problem was, the litter itself is still terrible for odor control. The ammonia smell really gets overwhelming quickly! We weren’t the only ones that were feeling overwhelmed – so was our poor Bartholomew.
Bart is a really awesome cat and is really easy going. He is always great about using the litter box. I had cats growing up that would do things like use the floor next to the litter box, use our laundry basket, etc., so what a relief to have a cat that actually uses the litter box consistently! Well, even an awesome cat can get overwhelmed by horrible odor control, and my husband made the unfortunate discovery that he had used the bathroom toy box to urinate! Eek!
So we needed another solution! We needed something that would both encourage him to love his litter box again as well as control the odor issue, so I was definitely eager to try Litter Getter. I love that Litter Getter has a really natural scent. It really does smell like being outdoors. Although it notes to work particularly with clumping litters it has worked fine in the crystal litter that must be used with the litter box we own. What a difference it has made! I am no longer bombarded with ammonia smell when I do laundry as the litter box is located in the laundry room. Plus, Bart seems to be happy using the litter box again and has no outside incidents since using Litter Getter! Did I mention I LOVE the natural earthy smell?
We are very happy with Litter Getter, and I’m so glad we found an all natural solution to our litter box issues!

Neater Feeder Review and Giveaway {over}

June 2, 2013 by Emilee Evans

Neater Feeder

Thanks to Neater Feeder for sending us a large Neater Feeder with leg extensions to try with our pup!
We have a Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff). She is a messy eater and SO sloppy with her water. We also have a really small back room, which happens to be the room in which we homeschool, have our dining table, and keep the pet food bowls. Surprisingly, the dog and cat share a food bowl and not in the way you expect. The cat will eat the dog food even when he has cat food available! So backwards I know! There isn’t a whole lot of space back in that room. It is quite small! So, the fact that our pup is so sloppy really takes its toll on us. She sloshes water EVERYWHERE when she drinks, and when she lifts her head it just drips all over! During our homeschool day I am sitting right beside the food bowls, and the kids will complain about stepping in water when walking over to me – or worse, they’ll slip on it! Plus, when there is food on the floor combined with the water it makes a nasty mess that I have to scrub hard to get off our linoleum floors if I don’t catch it immediately. It is AWFUL. Not to mention, if it isn’t our pup making the mess one of US might kick the food or water bowl and spill it!
So, I knew I was really going to put Neater Feeder to the test! I have seen the pictures and watched the videos. I could tell it was great at containing messes, but I still had a concern about the water that drops when she lifts her head. Well, I am happy to report, we have had NO messes since we started using the Neater Feeder! No food messes, no water on the floor, nothing! The food stays along the edges of the bowl, which either she or the cat will eat, and the water drips below into the reservoir for easy clean up! That’s it! All we have to do is dump out the lower reservoir every few days! That’s it! It’s dishwasher safe as well, though I have found it’s quicker just to clean it by hand! I also love that it has the leg extensions so it has a nice height for our “beast.” She has actually been more comfortable as she has been eating as well. We used to have an elevated feeder, but we stopped using it because when she would get sloppy with the water it would go underneath the bowl and make everything really slimy and disgusting. The upkeep was too much. So the Neater Feeder has solved two problems: our pup now has an elevated feeder again AND the mess is now contained. I am very happy with the Neater Feeder!
