Filling All Natural Granola Bars

July 24, 2014 by Emilee Evans

Disclosure: I received a package of granola bars to facilitate my review. Regardless, all opinions are my own and those of my family.
I am always on the lookout out for tasty snacks that are filling and natural. It’s also a bonus if everyone in the family likes them, too! During our homeschooling day we like to take occasional snack breaks, but I need something quick and easy so we can stay on task!
Vermont Nut Free Chocolates
I was introduced to Vermont Nut Free Chocolates and invited to review their TANABAR Granola Bars. Vermont Nut Free Chocolates offer a variety of nut free treats that are hand made from scratch in their own nut free facility. It was founded by the mother of a little boy with peanut allergies. Knowing how dangerous they can be, she wanted to offer snacks that are safe for those with nut allergies.
Although we, personally, don’t have nut allergies, I know many that do. Whenever we take snacks on the go where we will be with others, I try to be sure we don’t have foods with nuts. One of our friends’ son has a reaction just from peanut exposure. He doesn’t have to eat something with peanuts to trigger the reaction. This means if a facility even uses peanuts for other products, they are still not safe for him. So I think it is amazing that Vermont Nut Free Chocolates are completely nut free!
For my review I received a box of Assorted TANABAR Granola Bars. I love that I also received a catalog as well! All the chocolates look so delicious!
TANABAR All Natural Granola Bars
TANABAR are all natural granola bars available in three different flavors – Chocolate Chip, Sweet Raisin, and Triple Berry. Of course, they are also completely nut free. All natural, quick and easy, and available in multiple varieties? Sounds like just what we need!
The first thing I noticed about the TANABAR granola bars are the consistency. I could tell they are hand made and made with rolled oats. I was most impressed by the size! They are thick and, in turn, filling. They have a great texture. They do crumble a bit, but I just made sure the kids were eating them over the table. I prefer this consistency personally!
TANABAR All Natural Granola Bars Review
All three varieties are full of flavor. My personal favorite is the Sweet Raisin, but I really enjoy them all! The kids did as well! I think the boys favored Chocolate Chip, and our daughter favored the Triple Berry, but they all would eat the others and enjoyed them as well. I know this because our preschooler won’t eat anything he doesn’t like!
What I like most of all is that the TANABAR Granola Bars are a snack I can enjoy and feel good about giving to our children as well. They are quick and easy as well as filling – the perfect snacks for our mid-day snack! I am definitely happy with the TANABAR Granola Bars!

Whole Fruit Sorbet Review

January 11, 2013 by Emilee Evans

whole fruit sorbet
Whole Fruit Sorbets are an award-winning member of the Whole Fruit Line by J & J Snack Foods. Available in five flavors: Mango, Black Cherry, Raspberry, Strawberry, and Lemon.  Voted Best Flavors by Cooking Light Magazine!  WHOLE FRUIT Lemon and Mango Sorbet are bursting with award-winning refreshment.

•           Full 16 fl. oz. size pint
•          Smooth and creamy taste
•          Refreshing, unique flavors

My review:

For my review I received a pint of each of the available flavors. I definitely wasn’t the only one excited when I opened the box! Everyone was eager to try Whole Fruit Sorbet. Before digging in, though, I wanted to read the labels. Is it really “whole fruit?” Well, I was very impressed. There were no artificial flavors or colors! They are fat free, dairy free, gluten free, and all natural! I also enjoyed that there were bits of fruit in some of the sorbets. Because our kids have sensory sensitivities, they didn’t enjoy the sorbets that had the bits of fruit simply because of the texture, so they would pick the fruit pieces out. The Lemon and Mango, though, didn’t have the fruit pieces, so they ate those right up without a peep! My husband and I really enjoyed the sorbets with the fruit pieces, so it was a pretty fair trade off! Because there were no artificial additives I felt good about giving these sorbets to the kids. It was a nice treat without those worrisome food dyes we try to avoid!
I did try each flavor myself, and I was surprised how much flavor they had! Plus, they really did taste natural and had the perfect amount of flavor. I enjoyed the texture of all of them – with and without fruit pieces. My personal favorite was the Raspberry because well, I really love raspberry! I like that they come in pints because that is a good size for us. One pint was perfect to split between all 3 kids and one pint split between my husband and me. They really are a nice, special treat I feel good about our family eating! Now if we’re in the frozen section, even the kids are no longer pointing out ice cream or freeze pops – THEY find the Whole Fruit Sorbet! I love when there is an alternative they love and I feel good about buying!
