VeggieTales in the House is Here!

November 26, 2014 by Emilee Evans

Are you ready for a family-friendly series on Netflix with positive faith-based messages and short episodes perfect for young children both at home and on the go? Well, the wait is over! VeggieTales in the House debuts TODAY!! Woo hoo!

I had the opportunity to interview VeggieTales Co-Creator Phil Vischer (and voice of Bob the Tomato), and he gave me some insight on the new series, why they are taking this new direction, what we can expect from the new series, and even some insight on how he and Bob the Tomato are alike! I hope to have that feedback available soon!
In the meantime, I’d love to share one of Phil’s favorite episodes to talk about. It is “Bob and the Awesome Frosting Mustache,” in which Bob orders special “mustache frosting” on TV. He is convinced that a mustache is what he needs to boost his self-confidence. But in true VeggieTales fashion, Madame Blueberry helps him see that Bob is perfect just the way God made him.

We got a sneak peek at a couple of the episodes from VeggieTales in the House, and we loved them! Packed in each 11 minute episode was an important message like caring for a pet and how it relates to God trusting us with little things and big things.
Even Beliefnet.com shared their thoughts on VeggieTales in the House. They called the series “a breath of fresh air in the world of children’s programming.”
We are so excited to watch more episodes, and I, as a parent, am thrilled for a great faith-based series the kids can watch on Netflix. I love the short episodes with the great messages! It’s perfect for holding their attention and for those moments where they just need a little entertainment while not being tied to the screen for long.

VeggieTales In The House is Coming Soon!

October 10, 2014 by Emilee Evans

I share some of the amazing things I got to do and insight I gained on my VeggieTales Day in August. One of the awesome information we learned was more about VeggieTales In The House. VeggieTales In The House is an original Netflix series that will debut this Thanksgiving. Curious to know more? Check out the trailer!

What I love about the VeggieTales In The House concept is that they’re “shorts.” Each episode is only around 11 minutes, so when kids ask for “one more” (don’t they always?), one more is only 11 more minutes versus 30 minutes or an hour. Plus, it’s on Netflix, which is great for us because we love Netflix, but we’re careful to make sure the kids aren’t watching inappropriate shows. Even shows in the “Kids” section aren’t always what we consider appropriate! So we will finally have a great family-friendly, faith-based series I know our kids will love!
VeggieTales In The House also introduces the fresh, new look! Why the new look? Because technology changes – it advances, and over the last 20 years the veggies have changed as well! Animation now versus animation 20 years ago is amazingly different. VeggieTales is grasping the latest animation technology and incorporating a style of art today’s young children really enjoy!
VeggieTales In the House
I got to meet not only one of the Co-Creators of VeggieTales but also the artists who have been working on VeggieTales In The House, and their knowledge of animation technology and their passion for giving the veggies a look children will love is inspirational! Their excitement was contagious, and I know we are definitely looking forward to this great series!
