Have you Seen the Newest VeggieTales Plush?

June 3, 2015 by Emilee Evans

So many things have been happening with VeggieTales this year, and I’m so blessed to be a part of them! We have been enjoying the new movies that have come out and are still watching VeggieTales Noah’s Ark frequently as it is now one of our kids’ new favorites! They have been watching all the great episodes of VeggieTales in the House as well! Additionally, we had the chance to check out the newest VeggieTales plush that were released in March!
VeggieTales Plush
Disclosure: As a eVEGelist and VeggieTales Blogger, I received complimentary products to facilitate my review. Regardless, all opinions are my own and those of my family.
It’s not surprise that the kids were extremely excited to receive the new plush! Our 5 year old, in particular, has really taken a liking to the new plush, and they pretty much go everywhere with us now! He really enjoys the difference in feel as Bob the Tomato has a soft surface, and Larry the Cucumber is made of a corduroy type material. They are both a beanie plush and totally huggable.
For our review we received the Larry the Cucumber and Bob the Tomato Beanie Plush.
Newest VeggieTales Plush
Both of the plush are a fun size with Bob at around 5″ and Larry at around 7″. It makes them a great size for our son to cuddle with them in bed as well as pack them up and take them with us! All three kids like to play with them in the car as well! So I love that they are a portable size while still being very cuddly as well!
Of course, what I love most is how they’ve given the plush the new look that we’re now used to seeing in VeggieTales in the House and newest VeggieTales movies! Our kids are rather particular, so having new VeggieTales plush with the new looks is an absolute must!
We definitely love the new VeggieTales plush and love that there are many others of our favorite characters with the new look in a plush as well! Be sure to check out all the great VeggieTales plush!

VeggieTales Noah's Ark

April 12, 2015 by Emilee Evans

Noah’s Ark is one of the most memorable events in the Bible for kids, and I was so excited when I found out VeggieTales was going to be make Noah’s Ark for their latest movie!
image
Disclosure: As a VeggieTales eVEGelist I received this DVD complimentary to facilitate my VeggieTales Noah’s Ark review. Regardless, all opinions are my own and those of my family.
About VeggieTales Noah’s Ark:

Noah and his family along with a zoo full of animals take an adventure aboard an orange slice ark. After 40 days and nights of rain, everyone’s faith has been tested, and they’re ready to jump ship. Will they chart a new course, or will they remember to trust God’s promises? Grab your umbrellas and find out in this VeggieTales re-telling of the beloved Bible story!

VeggieTales Noah’s Ark features Wayne Brady as Noah’s son Shem and Christian singer Jaci Velasquez as Shem’s wife, Sadie. As with other VeggieTales movies it starts with Bob and Larry hosting the show and taking a viewer question. The opening scene is funny because they’re making comments to each other about their appearance then say they should just address the elephant in the room…which happens to be Roger! I’m pretty sure our kids didn’t get the pun, but I thought it was great!

What I love about VeggieTales Noah’s Ark is that it focuses on trusting God’s plan even if it isn’t our own. I think this is something even we adults struggle with! The viewer is concerned that their new sibling is a girl because they really wanted a brother. I have totally experienced this scenario with our children, and I think it’s a scenario to which many children can relate!
They tie the concept into Noah’s Ark not only because Noah and his family had to trust God’s plan, but Shem also just got married and was ready to settle down and build a new home, but he obviously couldn’t! They even tied in the idea that disobeying God’s plan to follow our own can have negative consequences as Shem tries to think of ways to get off the Ark – but they aren’t God’s way!
VeggieTales Noah's Ark
I think VeggieTales Noah’s Ark hits the nail on the head with another fantastic lesson for kids, and our kids absolutely LOVE it. It is yet another great VeggieTales movie with a great lesson and great songs! If you’re looking for a family-friendly movie with a great biblical lesson, you will definitely want to get VeggieTales Noah’s Ark!

VeggieTales Hotline

Have you heard? The VeggieTales Hotline is open 24 hours a day – and it’s free for kids to call (though, of course, they should still ask parents for permission!). Fans can reach Bob and Larry by calling (844) 2-VEGGIE.

The Newest VeggieTales Movie – Celery Night Fever!

August 11, 2014 by Emilee Evans

We are always thrilled when a new VeggieTales DVD is released! When we receive it, the kids always want to watch it immediately no matter what we’re doing at that moment! Celery Night Fever was surely no exception! The kids couldn’t wait to watch it!

Disclosure: As a VeggieTales Blogger I received the DVD to facilitate my Celery Night Fever review. Regardless, all opinions are my own and those of my family.
The newest VeggieTales movie was released August 5th. Not only did I get a chance to review it with our family, but I also got the chance to attend VeggieTales Day including the Celery Night Fever Release Party on August 4th. If you follow me on social media, I’m sure you saw all the pictures I was sharing! I have a lot to share from that trip, and I’ll be sharing it all throughout the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned!
While there I also got to learn more about Celery Night Fever – how they decided on the look for Bruce Onion and how they choose the message. Friendship and forgiveness are hard topics to cover, aren’t they? I think so – especially with younger children. It’s an important lesson for children to learn, though, and it’s one they will be using their whole life. It’s more than just the every day spats they have with each other. Celery Night Fever really gets to the heart of the matter – more than just disagreeing and arguing, but to forgive someone that has really hurt you.
Celery Night Fever
As with other VeggieTales movies, all three of our kids were really into Celery Night Fever. They were not only learning an important life lesson, but they were having fun as well. Our preschooler kept asking what “funky” meant. I told him the way he was dancing was funky. Ha! I love that we can have fun together while enjoying a movie with good values.
Check out the Celery Night Fever trailer:

Doesn’t it look great? There is great music in Celery Night Fever and my husband and I love that Terry Crews was the voice of Bruce Onion! We overall love the disco theme as well! As always, it had a great message! Not only does it discuss forgiveness, but it really hits on the point that God forgives no matter what. If He offers this grace to us, shouldn’t we, in turn, offer it to others?
We did notice the changes in Laura Carrot, which I’ve seen others mention, but we didn’t think much of it, and the kids didn’t say anything. I now know more about upcoming changes and why it is a good thing, which I’ll share as I roll out my other posts!
We loved Celery Night Fever and have watched it many times since we first watched it. I was also excited to bring home an autographed copy of Celery Night Fever by Terry Crews and autographed picture as well!
Celery Night Fever Terry Crews
Of course, there are always great activities available to compliment Celery Night Fever as well! Be sure to check out all the free downloadable activities including some great Celery Night Fever coloring sheets. You can also find activities on their Printables Board on Pinterest.

VeggieTales Summer Movie Party: MacLarry and the Stinky Cheese Battle

July 31, 2013 by Emilee Evans

Disclosure: As a VeggieTales Blogger I received a VeggieTales Summer Movie Party Pack with the MacLarry and the Stinky Cheese Battle DVD free of charge to facilitate my review and share my experience. My opinions are my own and those of my family.
VeggieTales
The latest VeggieTales movie, MacLarry & the Stinky Cheese Battle was released on July 30th! To celebrate the new release we received a VeggieTales Summer Movie Party Pack for some family-friendly movie fun! In addition to the MacLarry & the Stinky Cheese Battle DVD we received Veggie Tales cups and plates and activities to go along with the movie like Bob & Larry balloons (for water balloons), lyrics for the Singalong songs, activity sheets, cheesy snack ideas, and more!
We are big VeggieTales fans, so I am very excited to now be part of their Blogger team! VeggiesTales offers great family-friendly entertainment with important Faith-based lessons. I have always appreciated the main theme of VeggieTales which is “God made you special, and He loves you very much.” MacLarry & the Stinky Cheese Battle is a really good movie to emphasize this very idea!
MacLarry & the Stinky Cheese Battle is about two tribes of pranksters. MacLarry is the son of Chog Norrius the head of the Barber-barians and best prankster of all, but he is an inventor and can’t get the hang of pranking. Here is the movie Overview:

Larry the Cucumber stars as MacLarry, a misfit inventor who is stuck in the middle of the silliest battle ever between two tribes of perpetual pranksters! When the biggest prank of the century is unleashed, the feuding tribes are in danger of being overcome by the stinkiest cheese in the land! Will MacLarry realize that his God-given talents may be just what is needed to save them from the rotten cheddar??

I LOVE that MacLarry & The Stinky Cheese Battle Stresses that God created us to be different with different talents and abilities, and that it’s not only OK – it’s GREAT! Just because others are different doesn’t mean we can’t get along. In fact, we can find ways to work together and get along despite our differences and even celebrate and appreciate our differences. Our kids all have special needs, so many times they are “different” than the other children. What a great way to express that not only is that OK, but God created them to be special, and they are loved unconditionally! Sometimes each of their differences can make it hard to get along, so it is also a great lesson in reinforcing that it’s great that they are different from each other as well!
As always, VeggieTales delivers this wonderful message in a way that is exciting and fun! The kids were dancing and singing and having a great time, but the lesson definitely didn’t go unnoticed! We were able to discuss the lessons in the movie after when we were working on the activity pack! You can Download the MacLarry & the Stinky Cheese Battle Activity Pack, to enjoy!
Get a Peek of MacLarry and the Stinky Cheese Battle and Watch the Trailer:
Unfortunately, our party ended up just being a family party because of some unforeseen circumstances with our oldest son’s tooth infection, dental work, and the dental bill! Although we hope to reschedule our “big” Summer Movie Party for another date when he gets to feeling better and we can have plenty of refreshments for our friends, I wanted to share our review of MacLarry & The Stinky Cheese Battle as well as our little family Summer Movie Party. It may have been just us for this party, but we still had a great time! (Yes, we have a screen and projector as a “TV.” Cool, right?)

MacLarry and the Stinky Cheese Battle

MacLarry & the Stinky Cheese Battle is another great family-friendly movie from VeggieTales! There is a great Lunchbox Bundle, which is perfect for Back-to-School and includes the movie, a padded lunchbox, a Sing Along DVD, and a Larry Learns to Listen book! Or you can purchase MacLarry & the Stinky Cheese Battle DVD by itself. Don’t forget to download your free Activity Pack!
