Have you Seen the Newest VeggieTales Plush?

June 3, 2015 by Emilee Evans

So many things have been happening with VeggieTales this year, and I’m so blessed to be a part of them! We have been enjoying the new movies that have come out and are still watching VeggieTales Noah’s Ark frequently as it is now one of our kids’ new favorites! They have been watching all the great episodes of VeggieTales in the House as well! Additionally, we had the chance to check out the newest VeggieTales plush that were released in March!
VeggieTales Plush
Disclosure: As a eVEGelist and VeggieTales Blogger, I received complimentary products to facilitate my review. Regardless, all opinions are my own and those of my family.
It’s not surprise that the kids were extremely excited to receive the new plush! Our 5 year old, in particular, has really taken a liking to the new plush, and they pretty much go everywhere with us now! He really enjoys the difference in feel as Bob the Tomato has a soft surface, and Larry the Cucumber is made of a corduroy type material. They are both a beanie plush and totally huggable.
For our review we received the Larry the Cucumber and Bob the Tomato Beanie Plush.
Newest VeggieTales Plush
Both of the plush are a fun size with Bob at around 5″ and Larry at around 7″. It makes them a great size for our son to cuddle with them in bed as well as pack them up and take them with us! All three kids like to play with them in the car as well! So I love that they are a portable size while still being very cuddly as well!
Of course, what I love most is how they’ve given the plush the new look that we’re now used to seeing in VeggieTales in the House and newest VeggieTales movies! Our kids are rather particular, so having new VeggieTales plush with the new looks is an absolute must!
We definitely love the new VeggieTales plush and love that there are many others of our favorite characters with the new look in a plush as well! Be sure to check out all the great VeggieTales plush!

VeggieTales Noah's Ark

April 12, 2015 by Emilee Evans

Noah’s Ark is one of the most memorable events in the Bible for kids, and I was so excited when I found out VeggieTales was going to be make Noah’s Ark for their latest movie!
image
Disclosure: As a VeggieTales eVEGelist I received this DVD complimentary to facilitate my VeggieTales Noah’s Ark review. Regardless, all opinions are my own and those of my family.
About VeggieTales Noah’s Ark:

Noah and his family along with a zoo full of animals take an adventure aboard an orange slice ark. After 40 days and nights of rain, everyone’s faith has been tested, and they’re ready to jump ship. Will they chart a new course, or will they remember to trust God’s promises? Grab your umbrellas and find out in this VeggieTales re-telling of the beloved Bible story!

VeggieTales Noah’s Ark features Wayne Brady as Noah’s son Shem and Christian singer Jaci Velasquez as Shem’s wife, Sadie. As with other VeggieTales movies it starts with Bob and Larry hosting the show and taking a viewer question. The opening scene is funny because they’re making comments to each other about their appearance then say they should just address the elephant in the room…which happens to be Roger! I’m pretty sure our kids didn’t get the pun, but I thought it was great!

What I love about VeggieTales Noah’s Ark is that it focuses on trusting God’s plan even if it isn’t our own. I think this is something even we adults struggle with! The viewer is concerned that their new sibling is a girl because they really wanted a brother. I have totally experienced this scenario with our children, and I think it’s a scenario to which many children can relate!
They tie the concept into Noah’s Ark not only because Noah and his family had to trust God’s plan, but Shem also just got married and was ready to settle down and build a new home, but he obviously couldn’t! They even tied in the idea that disobeying God’s plan to follow our own can have negative consequences as Shem tries to think of ways to get off the Ark – but they aren’t God’s way!
VeggieTales Noah's Ark
I think VeggieTales Noah’s Ark hits the nail on the head with another fantastic lesson for kids, and our kids absolutely LOVE it. It is yet another great VeggieTales movie with a great lesson and great songs! If you’re looking for a family-friendly movie with a great biblical lesson, you will definitely want to get VeggieTales Noah’s Ark!

VeggieTales Hotline

Have you heard? The VeggieTales Hotline is open 24 hours a day – and it’s free for kids to call (though, of course, they should still ask parents for permission!). Fans can reach Bob and Larry by calling (844) 2-VEGGIE.

VeggieTales in the House is Here!

November 26, 2014 by Emilee Evans

Are you ready for a family-friendly series on Netflix with positive faith-based messages and short episodes perfect for young children both at home and on the go? Well, the wait is over! VeggieTales in the House debuts TODAY!! Woo hoo!

I had the opportunity to interview VeggieTales Co-Creator Phil Vischer (and voice of Bob the Tomato), and he gave me some insight on the new series, why they are taking this new direction, what we can expect from the new series, and even some insight on how he and Bob the Tomato are alike! I hope to have that feedback available soon!
In the meantime, I’d love to share one of Phil’s favorite episodes to talk about. It is “Bob and the Awesome Frosting Mustache,” in which Bob orders special “mustache frosting” on TV. He is convinced that a mustache is what he needs to boost his self-confidence. But in true VeggieTales fashion, Madame Blueberry helps him see that Bob is perfect just the way God made him.

We got a sneak peek at a couple of the episodes from VeggieTales in the House, and we loved them! Packed in each 11 minute episode was an important message like caring for a pet and how it relates to God trusting us with little things and big things.
Even Beliefnet.com shared their thoughts on VeggieTales in the House. They called the series “a breath of fresh air in the world of children’s programming.”
We are so excited to watch more episodes, and I, as a parent, am thrilled for a great faith-based series the kids can watch on Netflix. I love the short episodes with the great messages! It’s perfect for holding their attention and for those moments where they just need a little entertainment while not being tied to the screen for long.

Encourage Unconditional Love with Beauty and the Beet

October 17, 2014 by Emilee Evans

It’s here! The newest movie from VeggieTales – Beauty and the Beet was released this week. I’ve been sharing a couple of sneak peeks when I shared my VeggieTales Day. As always, it’s a movie with an important message – unconditional love. People aren’t always nice, and sometimes it can be hard to understand why we should love them anyway, but it’s what God wants us to do. Besides, are we always lovable? God loves us anyway, though, right?
“If God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” (1 John 4:11)
Beauty and the Beet
Disclosure: As a VeggieTales eVEGelist I received the Beauty and the Beet DVD to facilitate my review. Regardless, all opinions are my own and those of my family.
I love how VeggieTales has once again tackled an important topic with a fun, enjoyable movie based on God’s Word.
This message is conveyed in a fun story involving a family who are on a band together. As they go on tour and are headed to the big Vegetable Square Garden but things don’t go as planned. What happens when they get stuck at a hotel with a cranky owner?
Well, I don’t want to ruin the story, but it is a fun movie! Mirabelle is a sweet potato played by Kelly Pickler. She is a fun, new character with an upbeat, sweet personality! Of course, the music in the movie is amazing! It really adds to the whole movie and even includes a bonus Christmas song!
Mirabelle has an admirable persistence to be kind! A little sweet potato with a big heart!

Beauty and the Beet is a fun movie with action, great music, and an important message. It’s one of our new favorite VeggieTales movies!
Be sure to check out all the great free printables to go along with Beauty and the Beet including a discussion guide! We naturally discuss movies after we watch them, but having a discussion guide really helps guide the conversation!
I have a few great Beauty and the Beet Activities to share as well compliments of VeggieTales! Simply click on the link to download them!
