I have joined the Ultimate Blog Challenge! I knew it would be a great way to encourage myself to write more personal posts, which is something I have been wanting to do. For the Ultimate Blog Challenge I have to write a post every day. I do also have the option of doubling up one day if I happen to miss a day. To be honest, I’m not sure if the challenge excludes reviews, but for the sake of wanting to have more personal content I have taken this challenge to write personal content every day, so I am not including any reviews, giveaways, and/or sponsored posts in the challenge. I do have A LOT of reviews coming up as well as our trip to Houston that I mentioned in my Weekly Wrap-Up. It’s going to be a busy month, but I’m going to try my best!
Depending on my week (particularly when we’re out of town) some of the posts may be shorter than others, but I’m determined to stick to the goal of writing a post every day for the month of July – or at the very least writing two on one day if I did happen to miss a day. There have been times I feel discouraged to write more often because there isn’t much engagement (such as comments) on my personal posts, so when I have a busy week where I have reviews to post and maybe some sponsored posts, etc. it’s hard to find the motivation to squeeze in that extra time to type up a personal post knowing it may just get overlooked. Well, I’ve decided to get over that mindset. Something I’ve been thinking about is even if the post itself doesn’t have interaction on it I still have a potential to reach people, but if the post doesn’t exist I have the potential to reach nobody.
A few weeks ago I wrote a post called If you Want to Steal my Blog, and I felt very moved to write that post, and I meant everything I said. Then, I let my self doubts get in the way and let myself feel discouraged. I’m not going to do that anymore. I can’t. If I keep feeding my doubts then everything I said in that post is lost. So I’m using this challenge to move forward as well.
So, here it is! This is my first post – to introduce the challenge to you and let you know of my intents. I expect you to keep me accountable! ๐ If you’re a blogger I encourage you to join me as well!
Glad we are on this journey together. I’m wondering if I should gamble on my post getting lost in the transfer and posting it to my blog anyways. I’ve been informed to wait on my blog domain transfer to go through completely before I make any changes to my blog because they may not stay there. I’m itching though to get the ball rolling on this challenge.
Since I knew I was doing this,I’ve been holding back on writing many different things that have been rolling through my head like crazy. I just hope they come out as successful as I “think” they will. Like you, I have doubts on some of the things I write and post, but then I remember that I started my blog as my way of venting and my Mommy time. ๐ Although, I LOVE the interaction from the readers A LOT and it means so much to me when they get involved!!
Hmmm… Maybe post it but save a copy of it just in case? I’ve done a server transfer but not a domain transfer, so I really don’t know how that works! I know for the server transfer I made a backup of everything “just in case,” but it all moved over just fine!
Yea, I was thinking the same thing. ๐ I just don’t want to miss the fun. I feel like I’m being forced to stay home grounded instead of attending the party. ๐ I want to sneak out to the party and worry about the consequences later. ๐
LOL Understandable!
I’m participating, too ๐ It’s my first challenge, and we’re traveling as well, so we’ll see!
A lot of people travel in July. I guess that’s what makes it a challenge! haha
What a challenge indeed! I am not blogging – yet. So I am going to join along in my own way – come up with at least one future post topic every day that I can work into an editorial calendar. Thanks for the inspiration.
Great idea! You will be way on top of things that way!
Good for you not letting your “negative voice” keep you from your goals! It’s so easy to let self-doubt overrule our desire to progress.
Yes, it really is!
Hello ~ running into you from UBC! You were one of my two stop by and say hi’s!!
Yay! Awesome to see yet another Crew member on the challenge! ๐
Great post! I’m challenging myself with the UBC, too… But I’m doing it to meet great people like yourself! I’ve participated in another blogging group for several months and have loved it. People just need people ๐
That is so true! I’m looking forward to connecting with the other bloggers as well!
