Yummi Pouch Review

February 20, 2014 by Emilee Evans

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
Yummi Pouch Review
As a busy mom I’m always looking for products that make things easier. As an Eco-conscious consumer I’m always looking for products that are Eco-friendly and good for our family and the environment. That’s why I was excited for the chance to try Yummi Pouches and share my Yummi Pouch review.
Yummi Pouches are reusable food pouches you can fill with your children’s favorite purees, yogurt, smoothies, or even take your own smoothies to go! They’re easy, convenient, and yes, Eco-friendly! You can wash them (in the top rack of the dishwasher even!) and use them over and over again.
I love this because there is no more use them once and throw them out creating a lot of waste. Plus, I control what is in them as well as the cost. I can avoid nasty ingredients but also avoid the cost of individual organic fruit pouches by making purees at home with whole fruits myself. It’s a win-win!
For my review I received an assortment of Yummi Pouches in the various sizes.
Yummi Pouch Review

Yummi Pouch Mini

The Yummi Pouch Mini is great for toddlers or even young preschoolers for a small snack. It holds up to 2.5 ounces. The opening for filling is at the bottom and the spout is directly at the top making it perfect for little ones.

I think the smaller pouches are great, too, for snacks you’d like to keep at smaller portions.

Yummi Pouch Brights

The Yummi Pouch Brights are Yummi Pouches with fun, bright designs. They hold up to 6 oz and the opening for filling is at the top. I used a variety of textures, and because the opening is so wide I found that whether the texture was thinner like the yogurt or thicker like the pureed apples, it was still simple to fill. To fill, I used a measuring cup since it “designed to pour,” but I saw on the Yummi Pouch website they have a really great funnel pitcher that would make it even easier to fill! I was overall surprised, though, with how easy it was to fill!
Yummi Pouch Brights
The Yummi Pouch Brights also have an expanding bottom gusset, which is really nice and convenient. It really helps to open up the pouch, which makes it easier to fill. Plus, you can set it down. The expanding bottom gusset also makes it nicer for washing in the dishwasher because it is more open, allowing the water to get in (and out). The spout is on the side.
Yummi Pouch Gussets
The Yummi Pouch Brights have been a big hit with both our 6 year old daughter and 3 year old son. I find the Yummi Pouches are great for our mid-day snack when we’re still working on homeschooling and don’t want to take a full break but don’t want to compromise our work and projects with food crumbs. It’s a great way to get in another serving of fruits and/or veggies (sometimes I sneak the veggies in WITH the fruits) because using Yummi Pouches are fun, too! Because they both have sensory special needs, Yummi Pouches also offer a sensory oral input as well.

Yummi Pouch Sport

The Yummi Pouch Sport has all the same features of the Yummi Pouch, but can hold up to 10 ounces of blended beverages. It was designed with fitness minded individuals in mind as you can take your protein shakes, smoothies, etc. on the go. I wish I had these years ago when I used to take my shakes to go because those blender cups take up a lot of space! Just make them at home and take them in the Yummi Pouch! Perfect!
Although, I’m sure I will use them for this purpose, I haven’t really been on the go lately, and I haven’t been making many shakes lately. I have one more child, though, that has quite an appetite that needed a little more than what the Yummi Pouch holds, so the Yummi Pouch Sport was the perfect solution! Because it has all the same features but hold 4 ounces. more, it was the perfect option for our oldest son. It was used in the same way as the others, and he also really enjoys it (and doesn’t say that it wasn’t enough). Because he also has sensory needs, it offers the sensory oral input for him as well!
Yummi Pouches Review
All Yummi Pouches are dishwasher-safe as I mentioned; BPA free, PVC free and phthalate free; Recyclable and fully CPSP compliant; have large, removable cap; and are backed by a 30-day product guarantee!
I am so happy we had the chance to try Yummi Pouches and discover they offered not only an eco-friendly, affordable and healthy alternative to store bought food pouches, but also offer positive sensory input along with it! I have the opportunity to be sure our kids are getting the right kind of treats in their pouches as well as mixing in vegetables they won’t otherwise eat!

These look so cool! I wonder if it would look funny if I used them myself, lol. I would love to try them out! I also love that they are dishwasher friendly!

I don’t think so! I think a lot of adults use the Sport pouches for their smoothies and protein shakes! I know I’m going to!
