Fun Style with Princess Awesome

I admit I was a bit nervous about having a girl. I was never much of a girly girl, and although I can say that has changed some, I’d still say being “girly” isn’t one of my strengths. Not surprising, our daughter is quite a bit of a tomboy as well. Whether it’s because she gets it from me or because she’s the only girl with two brothers, one thing definitely sets her apart – she loves to wear dresses!
So what is a girl to do when she loves dresses but also loves things like science, ninjas and dinosaurs? Princess Awesome has it covered!

Princess Awesome makes clothes for girls that reflect the wide range of girls’ interests! They believe girls should be able to wear what they like! I couldn’t agree more! The great style Princess Awesome offers is for girls like Aurora that don’t want to choose between playing in the dirt and twirling in a dress. It is just that – awesome!

For our review we received the “She-Rex” Dinosaurs Play Dress.

Aurora was so excited for the opportunity to wear a dinosaur dress! She had a bit of a hard time picking because she also loved the ninjas. We love our dinos around here, though, so I wasn’t surprised that was her final decision.

Princess Awesome Review

Aurora has been loving her dinosaur dress. She loves that it has fun, bright colors – including her favorite color pink. Pink and dinosaurs? That’s a win-win for her! She also likes that it is comfortable, and the length is great. Another problem she has is she likes to be rough and tumble, so a dress has to have a good length. Of course, I think it should be fairly long anyway, but that is rarely an option!
The dress is comfortable and fun, and she gets to wear her dinos and look adorable, too! We both love this dress, and I think it is great what Princess Awesome offers for girls like, well, us!

A Toy with Endless Possibilities {Holiday Gift Guide 2015}

Our kids love stuffed toys. And why not? You can cuddle with them, use them for imaginary play, keep them in your bed, take them on the go, etc. They only lack one thing – they’re limited to what they are. A teddy bear is a teddy bear, a lion is a lion, etc. Of course, children can use their imaginations wouldn’t it be fun to have a stuffed animal that can be changed as often as they want? That’s what Kreate a Pet is all about!

Kreate a Pet are fun pets that can be created and changed as often as you want! The Kreate A Pet product was born from the imagination of Katarina when she was only 10 years old. She loved playing with stuffed animals, but her creative spirit wished she could do more with them like mixing and matching characteristics. One day when she was playing with sticky fabrics she got the great idea and started coming up with the designs for Kreate A Pet!
Now 13, she is so glad everyone loves her products. In addition the Patent Pending Kreate a Pet products, Katarina has many other models on the drawing board including dinosaur, monster, bird, insect, fish, cars, boats, airplanes, and houses. Plus the parts will be interchangeable between models!

Kreate a Pet Review

For our review we received two Kreate a Pets with included Stikkie Parts Packs and a Stikkie Board.

Our kids were in love with their Kreate a Pet as soon as I opened the box. Their eyes lit up and they were ready to check them out! I admit, so was I! You can create so many possibilities for endless hours of play! I shared more in this video as well as our younger two children showing how fun Kreate a Pet can be!

So far our kids have made multiple combinations with their Kreate a Pet. Our youngest son’s personal favorite is putting all the ears on one pet’s head to make it look like a lion, our daughter likes to make them look like cats and our oldest son just likes to put the Stikkie Parts anywhere for random combinations! They even like putting the Stikkie Parts on the Stikkie Board in various patterns or just randomly.
My favorite thing about the Stikkie Board is that there is a convenient place to put all the Stikkie Parts so they don’t get lost! Our kids (like most kids I’m sure) are notorious for losing things – especially small pieces and accessories for their toys. It gets tiring trying find them all and then we often give up on the toys altogether because we just can’t find them! This problem is solved with the Stikkie Board!

If you (or your gift recipients) have pets, I would make sure you have a lint roller (which you likely already do) because the loop material on the (Kreate a Pets) can attract pet hairs. A simple once over with the lint roller fixes it easily, though!
The Kreate a Pet would make an awesome gifts for any kid. It really allows them to use their imagination (and creativity) to the fullest! They have amazing features and are great for a variety of ages!

Replace the Shoelaces with DOOHICKIES {Holiday Gift Guide 2015}

All three of our children have special needs and fine-motor skills are a challenge for them. Tying shoes, though necessary to learn, can be a big challenge. What if there was a way to skip the tying (and the fuss and frustration that comes with it – particularly when you need to head out the door right away)? DOOHICKIES offers a fun and stylish alternative!

DOOHICKIES is a no-tie shoelace replacement designed for kids ages 5-12. The DOOHICKIES thread easily through the eyelets of any shoe and then snap in place for a secure fit. In addition to not having to tie their shoes, kids can make their shoes fit the way they want them to!
For our DOOHICKIES review we received the Berry DOOHICKIES. They are a pretty set with both purple and pink.

When we received the DOOHICKIES our daughter wanted to put them in her shoes right away. The only issue was determining in which shoes to put them! She ultimately decided on her white canvas shoes, which I thought was a great choice!
Because her shoes have super close eyelets, I did have to use the recommended “tight fit,” but even then I had to alter it because it was still too loose. Luckily, it’s easy to adjust them as necessary. Instead of crossing one over, I skipped two eyelets over, and this worked well.

She has definitely found tying shoes to be challenging and frustrating. Also having ADHD in addition to Sensory Processing Disorder, she not only has fine-motor challenges but also has a hard time focusing on a task – particularly when it’s challenging.
We’re often running late and everybody is stressed out trying to head out the door and waiting to tie shoes just adds to the stressful dynamics. Instead she would just try to avoid wearing shoes that need tied even if they didn’t match well with her outfit or activity. Dress shoes to play at the park?! This wasn’t an ideal situation.

DOOHICKIES has eliminated this problem by offering a solution that works for her. She is able to just slip on her shoes and go. Putting on her shoes went from a 10+ minute task to just a minute which makes it that much easier for all of us as we’re trying to get out the door on time!
Overall, I think DOOHICKIES is a great solution for children who have challenges tying shoes, haven’t yet learned to tie shoes or even just wanting an easy option with a fun look! With many different colors DOOHICKIES would make a great gift for any child!

A Personalized Book full of Adventure

Our kids love products that are made just for them. It really makes them feel special. When I was introduced to Crayon Crunch I knew the personalized book they offer is something our kids would love!

Crayon Crunch offers personalized gifts for kids. They offer the first-ever printed personalized book where the main character can be customized to look like any child. They celebrate diversity and offer characters of all ethnicities and disabilities. Their goal is to take every child on an adventure! In fact, they even note that if there isn’t an illustration that resembles your child they will go out of their way to make one! Amazing, right?
For our review we received the My Magical Adventure book for our youngest son, Chaz.

I love that My Magical Adventure is completely animated. I love that you can choose the character and that they offer so many options! The character in Chaz’s book has his hair and eye color and even wavy hair, which is similar to what it looks like when it’s longer. He was really excited about it! In fact, our older two children were excited for him as well!
Another feature of My Magical Adventure is that Chaz is the main character, so we got to follow him all through the adventure. His name is used multiple times as well as the letter “C” because that’s the first letter in his name.

In My Magical Adventure Chaz finds a magical box in the attic and goes on a pretend journey in order to find the key that unlocks the box. He travels through different places, meets different people and even gets to be different people as each new place they determine he’s someone else – an artist, a clown, a pirate and more. He ultimately learns, though, that it’s best to just be Chaz!
I think this is such a great message. Having three special needs children, they often feel like they are different. Chaz is still a little young to express these feelings, but I think a message just like this is exactly what he needs to know he’s perfect just the way he is!
Finally, he finds the key which leads to a personal letter that we wrote. I loved this feature because it really helps make it that much more personal. I felt like we were able to share a personal message of encouragement and love.

Overall, I think My Magical Adventure offered by Crayon Crunch is wonderful. The story is fun and exciting, it includes your child in the story and you get to leave a personal message as well. It’s a book that will be treasured for a long time!
