Natural Dental Care with Himalaya Botanique

Probably one of the biggest challenges I have as someone who prefers natural products is finding natural dental care products. From wasteful plastic toothbrushes to toothpaste with questionable ingredients, it’s hard to sort through it all and find the ideal products! That is why I was excited to try the natural dental products
offered by Himalaya Herbal Healthcare.

For my review I received a variety of products from Himalaya Herbal Healthcare – namely a variety of Himalaya Botanique toothpaste as well as a bamboo toothbrush, a sari bag and personal care bag.

For one, I was impressed that they offer so many varieties of their Himalaya Botanique toothpaste. One of the biggest challenges I have found is I may find a natural toothpaste I like but it’s only available in one or two varieties. The varieties I received to review include: the Complete Care toothpaste in Simply Spearmint, Simply Peppermint, Simply Cinnamon, and Simply Mint as well as the Whitening Complete Care Toothpaste in Simply Mint and Simply Peppermint. They offer basic varieties as well as the whitening toothpaste, which I think is unique. Whitening naturally? Yes, with pineapple and papaya enzymes!
Of course, the biggest thing I appreciate is they don’t have all the questionable ingredients I try to avoid. There is no fluoride, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Carrageenan. They are also gluten-free as well. These ingredients are common in many toothpastes. Despite not having SLS, I found they all still “foam” a little bit. You really only need to use a little bit. It does go a long way!
They really have cleaning power, too! My mouth feels so refreshed afterwards! Unfortunately, two of my three children are sensitive to what they call “spicy” toothpaste, which essentially just means they are minty. My 9 year old daughter also loves this toothpaste, though, and often mentions how her teeth and mouth feel so much cleaner after brushing as well.
Himalaya Herbal Healthcare also put a lot of thought into their packaging. The toothpaste packaging is made with 100% recycled material and is printed with soy based inks.

Overall, I love what Himalaya Herbal Healthcare offers. I love that they offer such a great variety of natural dental products. Even better is that they are effective!

Drink Healthier with this Glass Water Bottle from MIU COLOR

More attention has been brought to the fact that a lot of what we use every day isn’t good for us. We’ve also been learning more about what is good for us. When it comes to drink ware, glass is a good, healty option. Glass doesn’t contain harmful chemicals and is easy to disinfect. Plus, if you like to use citrus in your water (like I do), you can be sure it won’t leach.

MIU COLOR offers a variety of great eco-friendly products. In fact, I had the opportunity to try their foldable picnic blanket as well and loved it!
For my review I received a MIU COLOR 24.5 oz Glass Water Bottle, Nylon Sleeve and two Bottle Brushes.

This glass water bottle has a metal lid that twists on and off and isn’t attached to the bottle. It doesn’t leak at all. I can turn it upside down and shake it up without any problems. I, personally, have a love/hate relationship with lids. I love lids that are attached simply for the convenience and knowing I won’t lose it. I also dislike lids that attached because sometimes they just get in the way. I have been using this water bottle as my everyday water bottle for around the house.
This glass water bottle is really easy to clean. It has a fairly wide mouth, though using the bottle brush is best for cleaning it out by hand. I love that glass is healthier and easier to clean, too! I do think the detached lid makes it even easier to clean because the lid itself is easy to clean. So I can feel good knowing everything is thoroughly cleaned each time.
I love the Nylon Sleeve because it adds an extra layer of protection. I think everyone’s biggest concern with glass is the glass breaking. With this sleeve the chance of breaking is reduced. Plus, you may also know glass becomes very hot or very cold with whatever the liquid is. I’m not sure why anybody would choose hot water, but I know many people may choose ice cold water. The sleeve not only helps keep it cold, but you don’t have to worry about your hand getting cold while you’re holding it. It is easy to put on and take off with a simple zipper.

Overall, I do like the MIU Color glass water bottle. It’s great for using around the house, cleans easily and allows me to use citrus in my water. The sleeve offers that level of protection from breakage and makes sure my hands aren’t freezing. Plus, the bottle brushes are very sturdy and definitely ensure the bottle is easy to clean!

Accountable2You Review

Accountability is important – especially when you have children. Even when I have put child settings into place and have been very direct about what is OK to visit and not visit, I know nothing is foolproof. There are so many inappropriate things the kids can stumble upon! Recently we have been using the Family Plan from Accountable2You to help monitor multiple devices within our home.

Something I appreciate is not only does Accountable2You offer accountability for multiple devices, but the number of devices that are supported is quite extensive. We are able to use it on both computers (both are Windows 10), the iPads (iOS 8 or later), the Kindle Fire HD, and my iPhone. Pretty amazing, right? The only difference between running the software on the different devices is that on iOS devices it doesn’t monitor the entire device. I found it was a little more complicated to get it up and running on our iOS devices, but it was definitely still doable.
For us, I found installing accountability software opened the door for discussions about not only what they shouldn’t be accessing on the internet but also that they’re using their time wisely. We use quite a few homeschool programs that are internet based, and those programs have offered the opportunity for independent time. Since we have been able to monitor their internet activity, I’ve been able to explain time management as well. It wasn’t something I planned on, but it’s definitely valuable as well!
I have to admit it’s been an eye opener for me as well! I have a bad habit of clicking on those random “suggested” articles and can easily get caught up. I have been much more aware of how I am spending time on my devices. Now I actually think before I allow myself to get sucked in to random nonsense.
I found Accountable2You was fairly simple to set up overall. There are multiple steps involving setting up family members and installing the software on the devices. Each device has its own accountability partner. I am, of course, the accountability partner for my kids’ devices. I feel like there are definitely more features that I hope to explore more soon, but I definitely find Accountable2You has been helpful for our family.

The Vive Back Brace is essentially a compression wrap that is designed to support the lower back. It’s made of a durable material yet doesn’t feel too heavy. It is fastened with a premium velcro that is absolutely amazing. I, personally, always worry about velcro because it can be really good, but it can also be ineffective. Sometimes it’s starts off OK but becomes ineffective later. When they say “premium” velcro, it really is. It is high quality and continues to keep its integrity. It stays nice and snug.
I have been using the Vive Back Brace when I’m doing a lot of chores around the house. Doing dishes is actually one of the most painful activities for me. Standing over the sink even for 10 minutes or less results in unbearable lower back pain. Since I’ve been using the Vive Back Brace, that pain has been reduced!
One thing I really love about this back brace is the lumbar support. I appreciate that it can be removed, but it has definitely been very helpful. It just happens to support that spot in my lower back that hurts the most (where the scoliosis is). It is really easy to remove and put back on as it also fastens with the velcro.
As with many back braces, I do get hot easily when I’m wearing it. Of course, I get hot easily in general, though. I have noticed, though, that when I do sweat it is much more breathable so it isn’t bothersome.

Overall, I think the Vive Back Brace is a great back brace. It’s lightweight yet sturdy, offers great support and is very easy to adjust to fit “just right.” It definitely seems like it will continue to offer support and maintain its integrity.
