So some may wonder “why fishing?” We decided last year we needed a family hobby. It’s something both my husband and I enjoy, and as I mentioned in my post about fishing with kids – it is most definitely possible to still have a good time with the whole family! Even when the kids aren’t that “into” it they still have fun! Our culture gets plenty of “media time,” so this is also a great way to get out of the house and enjoy nature! Sure, it’s not always perfect like the night people were blaring their music and swearing up a storm. For the most part, though, it’s nice, quiet and relaxing! Earlier this week I finally spotted one of the frogs that we’ve been hearing! They croak all around us, but I’ve never been able to see one! I figure they hide very well. Actually, they’re very small! I can’t believe I even saw it because they’re the same brown color as the dirt, and it could fit in the palm of my hand! Sure it has nothing to do with fishing itself, but it’s part of being out there and discovering those new things! The kids get to catch minnows with their nets and play in the dirt and with the rocks, and we get to enjoy fishing together! I grew up fishing basically, so it’s something I had always done until I entered adult hood. I really missed it, and am so glad to not only be fishing again but to be doing it with my family now and making great memories with them! 🙂
I’ve always loved to fish. Unfortunately, I don’t get to go like I want to.
