Boost Your Immune System: Puritan's Pride Review and Giveaway *Over* (ended 12/3)

November 19, 2013 by Emilee Evans

Disclosure: I received the products mentioned to facilitate my review. Regardless, I only recommend products I feel would be good for my readers. All opinions are my own.

Puritan's Pride

It’s that time of year where the seasons are changing, families are gathering, and germs are spreading. Even down here in Texas we’ve been having some colder temperatures. At the first sign of the sniffles we get bombarded with questions about taking vitamin C or echinacea, or just taking our vitamins in general! Although we’re a homeschooling family we are definitely not secluded from the risk of being exposed to germs. In fact, many times we’re out and about – right where the germs are! This year, though, I’m going into cold and flu season prepared thanks to Puritan’s Pride.
Puritan’s Pride® (www.puritan.com) began over 40 years ago, with the mission of making the finest quality nutritional supplements available at the best value to their customers. Today, the company remains true to its original commitment and serves millions of loyal customers. Puritan’s Pride manufactures thousands of vitamins, minerals, herbs and other nutritional supplements in their state-of-the art facilities located throughout the U.S. As part of the company’s commitment to quality, Puritan’s Pride only uses ingredients from suppliers worldwide that meet their Quality Assurance Standards, as well as Good Manufacturing Practices food quality standards.
Puritan’s Pride provided me with a powerful lineup that includes:

  • Astragalus Extract
  • Echinacea with Goldenseal Root
  • Elderberry Sambucus
  • Astragalus, Vitamin C & Elderberry
  • Maitake Mushroom Extract

Are you unsure what these supplements are all about?
What is Astragalus Extract?
Astragalus contains naturally occurring flavonoids and polysaccharides. As a traditional Chinese herb, Astragalus is known for its goodness.
What are some of the health benefits of Echinacea with Goldenseal Root?
Echinacea is one of the world’s leading herbs for immune system support, while Goldenseal has a long history of traditional use. * Goldenseal contains alkaloids, including hydrastine and berberine.
What is Elderberry Sambucus?
Elderberry naturally contains beneficial flavonoids, including plant-based phytochemicals with antioxidant properties.* Elderberries also have a long history of use as a food.
How does the combination of Astagalus, Vitamin C & Elderberry work together?
The dietary supplement of Astragals, Vitamin C & Elderberry combines one important immune system vitamin with two traditional herbs.* The result is a unique immune health supplement with antioxidant support.* Vitamin C is one of the leading vitamins for immune support.* Astragals and Elderberry naturally contain phytonutrients.

I’m preparing by taking supplements like Vitamin D and C. If I feel a sore throat coming on, I immediately take zinc and echinacea and up my dose of vitamin C. I also try to keep my hands from touching my face, and I wash them often. I also disinfect doorknobs, and if I touch something like an ATM or gas pump, I use hand sanitizer immediately afterwards.

NOT getting the flu shot for one! I’m keeping my daily routine of exercise and taking my vitamins. If I feel sickish I just take EmergenC and get some rest.

    Hey,
What a fantastic post! This is so chock full of useful information that nobody can reject the info you have given in the post, this is actually a great work. I have been following clinical studies for almost 10 years on the role of various nutrients in the role of disease prevention. Thousands of journal articles have recommended taking health supplements for the better healthy life. In fact, every one of the 8 primary chronic degenerative diseases (in order, Cardio-Vascular, Cancer, Stroke, Alzheimer’s, Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Arthritis, and Obesity) ALL are nutritionally-based. So health supplement is necessary for our daily life to boost the immune system and lead a healthy life.
