Dress First for your Formal Dress needs

December 18, 2013 by Emilee Evans

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of DressFirst. Regardless, all opinions are my own.
Dress First
One of my best memories from my husband’s time in the Army was the Old Guard Ball. I really thought there wouldn’t be another time I would get to wear a pretty formal dress and get all prettied up. That was the best part! Unfortunately, that year was also the last year they had it! We got some great pictures, and I already have them hanging up in our new house.
I’ve met a lot of great friends that are military spouses, and I love when they share their pictures from the various military balls. I love to see the beautiful dresses they wear! I know there is something that is challenging shopping for formal dresses as an adult, though, it’s that there isn’t much of a selection. When I was shopping for my formal dress I found mostly bridesmaid dresses or prom dresses. Both could be beautiful (particularly prom dresses), but neither really fit my style very well.
Dress First offers a very wide variety of formal dresses including both bridesmaid dresses and prom dresses. They even have gorgeous wedding dresses, mother of the bride dresses, flower girl dresses and more! Basically, if you have any type of dress and accessory need, Dress First is the place to go. What I was most excited about, though, is the cheap evening dresses. They are gorgeous! Military spouse friends, you must check them out!
When it comes to evening dresses, I love dresses that are long and flow. Of course, I had to scroll through and look at them all. You never know. I might just need one for another occasion! Upon looking at the dresses I was curious if the dresses were just as pictured or if you could get the same dress in different colors. I was surprised to discover not only were other colors available, but that all dresses are made to order even if you choose standard size dresses! They have a helpful Dress Size Chart and Plus Size Dress Size Chart.
You can also choose a “Custom Size,” and your dress will be made to your exact fit! Can you imagine? Talk about the time that saves a small busted, long torso woman like myself? I have a hard time finding dresses with fitted tops that are still big enough at the waist and also long enough. Even pre-children I had this problem! This would save me a lot of trouble!
I knew I would find something beautiful, and I did! Well, I found many beautiful dresses, but this one in particular caught my attention.

This A-Line/Princess V-neck Floor-Length Chiffon Lace Evening Dress With Ruffle Beading would definitely be beautiful for a military ball, but it would also be perfect for a fancy evening dinner! I find many “Evening Dresses” are TOO fancy for such an occasion, but this is a dress I could feel wear to a fancy evening dinner and feel pretty but not “overdone.”
Dress First has so many dresses and accessories to choose from, so whether you are shopping for a wedding, prom, homecoming, formal, or the evening or even cocktail dresses, you should head over to dressfirst.com and see what they have to offer!

I love getting all dolled up to go out with my husband. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened in years due to having our crazy kids. Right now I am 7 months pregnant with a baby girl who has taken it upon herself to widen my waist line (hello love handles!). Therefore, I don’t think I will be going dress shopping any time soon. But when I do, I will definitely look into Dress First since I will not want to be going dress shopping with three small kids!

I can understand that! Yes, I definitely don’t want to go dress shopping with the kids in tow!
