Nail a Healthier Lifestyle {Bed of Nails Review}

January 3, 2014 by Emilee Evans

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. All opinions and experiences are my own and those of my family.
Bed of Nails
Because my husband and I both have health conditions I am always on the lookout for products that I can help us. I am always excited to find products that help naturally, so when I saw the Bed of Nails I knew I had found a gem! Bed of Nails is a Swedish acupressure mat that is inspired by ancient Indian healing tradition. Of course, they have modernized it, and it has thousands of plastic spikes that are non-toxic and not harmful to the skin. They still have the same benefits of the ancient beds of nails, though!
I can say I was definitely intrigued! My husband and I are both interested in acupuncture, but it’s not something that was within our means. Now we find something that offers the benefits of acupuncture at home? We were both excited to try it! When I read all the numerous benefits, I was even more excited! The Bed of Nails can help aid in self-treatment and stimulating energy in the body. It may also help the body rid itself of toxins. As with anything that helps rid the body of toxins, it’s important to remember to drink water after to help aid this process!
Bed of Nails
For our review we received the green Bed of Nails mat. I’m pretty sure after I took a picture of the box it got put to use right away. My husband is more eager than the kids sometimes when it comes to trying out new things! I did make sure we read the information first. Because the Bed of Nails has so many sharp points there are obviously precautions to take as well. It’s important not to move around on it, and we have to keep it out of reach of our kiddos and pets.
Bed of Nails Review
My husband has been pretty much using it every day since the first day! Don’t worry, I’ve gotten plenty of use of it myself as well! We have both found it relaxing, though we both experience a different effect afterwards. He is ready to go to sleep immediately after using the Bed of Nails whereas I feel more alert and energized after using it. Interesting, right? It does note that everybody will respond differently, and even the same person may feel different per use.
For myself, it has been pretty consistent that while I am on the Bed of Nails I feel very relaxed, and when I am finished I feel awake and alert. It’s the perfect replacement to those “cat naps” that are supposed to do the same thing. I can’t take those type of naps because I feel AWFUL afterwards. I feel like I need to sleep much longer. Now I have a relaxing alternative that helps me to perk up and has health benefits as well.
Having Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in addition to Fibromyalgia, anything that can give me more energy and focus naturally is wonderful! With less fatigue I also have less pain flareups as well. I have also noticed the Bed of Nails has improved my overall mood. Not only do I feel more alert, but I feel generally more content. Mood and pain often go hand in hand with Fibromyalgia as well, so again, this is a major benefit!
For my husband, it has been consistent as well. He has problems with sleep, and that has been much improved since using the Bed of Nails. The best part of all is – we can get these benefits right from the comfort of our own home! I don’t have to go out to appointments and find a sitter or pay a bill per visit! It’s just what I need! It’s something I think from which I think any busy parents or professionals can benefit!

    Interesting review on the bed of nails. This would actually be something I try instead of getting shots in my hips and back.

    I am a huge fan of acupuncturist, and find that acupressure is a great way to extend the good results I get from that, in between treatments! I bet this would help with that!

    I’ve never tried accupunture before. This sounds like a great alternative as it looks less expensive than actual accupunture itself. I’ve heard the cost can add up. As someone who also has Fibromyalgia/Chronic Pain/CFS. I’m definitely going to look into The Bed of Nails and see if it helps me any. Can’t hurt to try right? 🙂 I think my boyfriend would get some good use of of one also.

      Definitely! I’m always on the lookout for things that can help, and it can be hit or miss, but most is worth taking chances! I’m glad we got to try the Bed of Nails!

    You can have a natural care approach like acupuncture done that helps in blood circulation that helps in the body healthier.
