Fun Times at the LEGO Creativity Tour Ohio

December 6, 2015 by Emilee Evans

After enjoying LEGO KidsFest in Texas in 2013 we were so excited for the opportunity to visit the LEGO® Creativity Tour in Columbus now that we’re here in Ohio! It was an event we absolutely couldn’t miss!
LEGO KidsFest
This is a sponsored post on behalf of LEGO® Creativity Tour. My family received 4 tickets to attend the event. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own and those of my family.
When the day of the LEGO Creativity Tour came, we were so ready to go have some fun! We attended the second Friday session and definitely had some fun! Our time was a little different than our previous time since the kids are older. We decided to take it in stride and let our trip unfold as it would. I really enjoyed the session breakups because it definitely helped us set up a plan. We knew exactly how long we could be there and knew it wouldn’t be overcrowded, which is always an advantage when you have children with sensory challenges!
LEGO Creativity Tour Ohio Spider-Man
We got started right away! First, we had to stop to see Spider-Man and play the game at the little LEGO city. It’s a game where you search for specific things within the scene, and it’s so much fun! After that we proceed to one of the building areas. The Monochromatic Build area offered the chance to build with multiple bricks of the same color. It’s fun to see what everybody comes up with!

One of our youngest son’s highlights was one of the big Build Areas. He not only got to create whatever he wanted, but he also got to have it displayed in the case. What I loved about this is that it didn’t matter that he has special needs and has a hard time building something fancy. He got to build what he wanted to the best of his ability, and they made him feel really special!

Once more the kids enjoyed the big Brick Pile. There were many kids enjoying them! It’s just so fun for them! They can build a little or just play in it!

Of course, I can’t forget to mention the life size models of various characters. They are seriously amazing! They are made up entirely of LEGO® bricks! We saw some of our favorites from LEGO Kidsfest and a few new ones! We had to walk through and check them all out!

The kids had fun posing with the lion and building and racing little cars. It was fun testing them to see how they would work and how well they would race!
LEGO Creativity Tour Activities
In addition to all the great LEGO related activities, there were additional activities that were a blast for the kids. They learned a little bit of science thanks to COSI and got to climb a rock wall! They had so much fun!
LEGO Creativity Tour Extras
Overall, we actually spent almost the full time there! We did so much and had so much fun, but there was also so much more! Some of it was geared more toward older children and/or adults as it was more challenging. I love that they offer such a variety for young children all the way through adults! There is something for everyone! In fact, one of our friends joined us as well!
We definitely had a great time at the LEGO Creativity Tour, and can’t wait for it to come around again! Be sure to connect with the LEGO Creativity Tour/LEGO Kidsfest on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date!
